Who is announing the game for CBC? He is horrible!

Calls drop shots smashes and is horribly biased against Zhang.

Anyone else sense this or is it just me?

Elliotte Friedeman did an alright job, as this was probably his first ever commentation in badminton!

I thought he wasn't very competent as well. Obviously new to the sport, and probably getting his knowledge of the game from reading up on it the night before or something.

This is regards to the women's single Gold match.
Yes, he was very very new to the sport. haha points -> "So if you have a odd score then u serve from the left" and he like choked on some parts. He was like "It was obvious............. she miscalculated". That is another point, the term miscalculated seems to math related -_- (mind u, I hate math lol). Btw, he was calling any cut, tip a dropshot basically all the net shots. lol, the worst part is when either when both women smashed, he would say "she couldn't take the smash" but u could clearly see that the other was only trying to return on a sharp angle to just go over the net. O well, he's new =P. Anyways, was the Women's final the only one shown in Canada -_-?

I honestly didn't like him, he's like, oh yeah, and that's a shuttlecock, not a birdie, fanatics hate it being called a birdie. Honestly, for a match of this caliber, you don't tell us these gay basics. I half wanted to mute that fcuker! The only peice of useful information he said all morning, was, talking about them meeting the 12 times, with 6 wins each, and Mia winning the last. Not that I didn't know, but it was better than him explaining the basics or calling every netshot a dropshot. Also he keeps talking about miscalculations, so that must be getting to him. He said that Zhang left for sports school at 12, and now she's 29 which is amazing that she's doing well. Well 29 - 12 = 17, he said it's been 16 years for her. Jesus christ, I think most of the regulars like bluejeff, kwun, ants, or lazy, could've done a MUCH better job...

One reason he had to explain many of the rules was that this match would have been viewed by many CBC viewers who aren't badminton fans. It was for their benefit but I guess CBC could have just reinvited Mark Debelle to commentate.

    ^^
No, mixed doubles was not shown in full. They show some small important clips when they have time to spare till their regularly schedule sport event.
