Guess where next Thomas/Uber going to be held? Havana!Good for Americans, not good for Asian fans, sleepless mornings.
Havana, Florida or Havana, Illinois? Please let it be the latter coz I'm going to be in IL... *keeps fingers crossed*... Btw, where did you get the info from?
I saw the article. Dates were from 11 to 17 Nov this year... so it shouldn't be the T and U cup finals, right? Anyway, wishful thinking on my part...
yeah, it is the Pan Am prelim event. i just looked at the IBF calendar. the finals are still undecided....
Which country do you think should hold the finals next year?? Malaysia?? HK?? I think the IBF wants MAS because they did such a good job of it last year, in fact they said something like the best ever held, plus they always seem to be able to get generous sponsors. But MAS not that keen.
Maybe they should reconsider, the MAs team looks well balanced and capable of giving a strong challenge.
Bring your own pop & toilet paper! It's a communist country! I'm serious! American is definitely not their favourite! Canadian is!
I was under the impression from several sets of friends who have visited Cuba, in about 1987 and several times in the past five years, that the Cuban people are actually very friendly toward Americans and are a friendly people on the whole. Most Americans view the Cuban government as essentially being one and the same as Fidel Castro, who is viewed as being an anachronism from decades ago; most Americans think that as soon as Castro dies, the country will start scrapping most reminants of communism and we will establish normal relations with Cuba again very quickly. It seems to me that any antagonism between the countries is based on an ancient cold war policy by the U.S. government that few people (except Cuban immigrants and their descendants) believe has any further validity, as well as Castro's decades long hostile response to that policy, and such conflict is one between governments, not between the people of the two countries. As for the lack of amenities, I thought that in the past decade, tourism has become perhaps the main industry of Cuba and they have built many hotels and resorts (or allowed foreign investment to build such facilities) that accommodate western standards such as food, restrooms and other minor luxuries for visiting Europeans, Canadians and other non-Americans (or Americans who sneak in through Canada or Mexico). Isn't that the case, at least in the tourist areas? It would be curious to see what the sport of badminton is like in Cuba.
Cuba is starting to develop its badminton players. I think in 5 more years, they will challenge Canada for badminton supremacy in the Americas. They can't all be baseball players and boxers....
Me too. But hey, they should first built a mens' and womens' strong team to be able to avoid being humiliate again.
