i know this question has probably been asked a million times, but how much string do u need to restring 1 racquet?? They sell packs of 10m string, is that enough to restring 2 racquets?? im thinking of buying the yonex BG 68 Ti (10 metre set) and taking it to a local stringer for him to string (i bought the carlton airblade tour and i really don't like the factory strings)
Nope, it's only enough for one racquet. The amount left over depends on wether it's a one piece stringing technique or two piece stringing technique.
(resposne to question before edit) you already have your answer... what more do you want to know? (response to edit) depends on whether the mains and cross use seperate pieces of string, if one string is used to thread both
yes i know i have my answer, i asked what is 'one piece stringing technique or two piece stringing technique?' and does anybody know if they sell fake yonex bg68 ti strings? im only asking as there seems to be fake badminton racquects going around....
Q One piece stringing is where the stringer uses one single strand of string to do both the main (the strings that go up and down the racket head) and the cross strings (the strings going side to side). Two piece stringing is where he cuts the 10 m piece into two separate pieces and uses them separately, one for the main and one for the cross. You can tell if it's a two piece stringing job because the frame will have four knots on it, one for each end of each string. If you have a professional stringer, you should ask him to use the two string method. It might take him an extra few minutes to do, but your racket will suffer less stress and you'll get better performance (though some people do debate the amount of improvement you get). Factory strings are usually not very good quality anyway, and they are always set at a fairly low tension because they know the racket might not played with for a long time after it leaves the factory. Typical factory tensions can be anywhere from 16-20lbs, whereas most players would want at least 22lbs. Strings do make a HUGE difference in performance, so I'd advise you get good strings at a suitable tension. I've never heard of fake strings, but then I buy mine in bulk from HK and even Yonex strings are so cheap there, I don't think it's worth it for anyone to make fake ones. I pay less than £2 for a set of BG68Ti, whereas it's about £9 in the UK.
really £2?? do u think its possible if i can buy some of u then?? or do u have the site where i can buy it from hk? as i am in england
Strings Sorry, I'm down to my last BG68Ti set. After that I've got some BG70Pro and BG65Ti sets to use up before ordering my next batch, which probably won't be for about 3 months or so. I have a friend who buys them from HK. I can order some extra ones for you the next time I ask him, but it won't be for a while. But I don't think it's too hard to find in HK, if you know anyone else who's going there. David
ah right.... well i was hoping to get some soon like within a week, but nevermind then thanks anyways
For BG68Ti, yes, there was a fake version being sold. I was shown it about year back I think. Quite difficult to spot the difference - the fake breaks more quickly. Even the packaging was very, very similar.
if you want strings....look on ebay they are all making a massive profit, but i guess its better than buying it from your stringer
pretty much all strings come in packs of 10m. those that dont, like big rolls of string arent really easy to come by anyway. look for a stringer you can trust, im sure s/he has strings in stock so you wont need to buy them personaly.
