i've just seen a couple of postings here... and something which disturbs me most annoyingly is how so many people in THIS forum AND others that i've engaged in, seems to hate li yongbo.

why do i say this? if they don't hate him, why do they find all kinds of faults in him in order to condemn him? what with him being arroganT... cORRUPT(????!!!), etc?

Really? i have to say, i haven't seen any... lol.
I dont hate him, i think he's ok as a coach. I mean before him there was that other coach who never smiled. I think i heard this IBF woman say that he was like 'Ice Man'. Anyway, i don't think he's arrogant or anything. He just looks a bit... well, i dunno...
well, what i'm trying to say is that i dont hate him. So you're not on your own buddy!!

    ...Maybe that's because He's a bit mysterious ;)
But i don't know him, so i cannot say if he's arrogant or not , but i heard in a thread that he cooked and make the taxi driver for all the team .. so maybe that means he's a great coach LoL =p

yes, like the common saying, one shouldn't judge the book by its cover. No one here really know LYB from the inside nor talked to his friends before. What u hear, read and see from the outside may not be actual as one really don't know the whole story. Being a coach of a communist country isnt easy, lots of political pressure to do 'certain' things. I'm not praising LYB either, i'm kinda neutral on this. As a final note, have to seen zhang ning running to hug LYB before doing any other thing right after the match point? A girl dun do that if she isn't appreciative or respect that guy.

After reading & thinking some more, i believe there is a core reason why LYB fielded LD, bao and chen hong in MS. All with valid reasons for what he had done but on the surface many think LYB isn't fair or made some wrong choice.

imagine the pain i go through.. and i'm not even li yongbo!

yeah, tell it to those who call him all types of names... forever blaming him esp. after the MS and MD lost in athens. THEY strongly support the notion that he should be FIRED.

LOL, too bad, LYB's career is in the hands of the chinese gov't and sport counsel and i'm sure the latter know what roster LYB had line up for the athen game.

li yongbo is a hero in MY eyes. and absolutely nothing anyone says would damage my image of him. unless of course some VERY RELIABLE source comes out with some hard evidence of him involving in drug trafficking or committing other such denounciable crimes; which of course is highly unnatural of him!
    ;)

    1. No one can be everyone's friend.

    2. Everyone could be someone's worst enemy.

    3. No one can make all perfect selections at all time.

    4. Everyone once or many times will make costly mistakes.

    5. No one should just blame a coach/player, even s/he seems under achieve.

    6. Everyone should look at other's "achievement" rather than "short coming", and appreciate the efforts that they put in.

Coach Li Yongbo now wears a Rolex Submariner watch. A sign that they are opening up!

    Thanks,

c = on based upon things that I have heard, and as thus a personal opinion, not necessary factual.

Li LingWei was Chinese Uber Cup coach a while back and was rumoured to be pushed out by Li YongBo.
