Does this mean I never have to replace a Yonex again, since the nano tech will repair the racquet if broken (just like a movies) :p

This new racket will be made from tougher chains of graphite and will be incorporated within the shaft and racket frame...

Are we finally seeing the use of carbon nano tubes in the construction of baddie racquet?

cooler previously pointed out in another thread that buckyballs cost $100 per gram or something. so unless the price has really dropped, or its gonna cost a fortune, i dont see much of the material being used in the construction. so probably another gimmick in my guess :D

    It's cheaper than AT800 OF/DE. It's stated 22,050yen (21,00yen). Also it will comeout in 2u and 3u only.

It said in the in the first picture that it will be available on November 2004, carbon frame + Nano Carbon, Carbon Shaft + Nano Carbon, T Joint
So Nano Carbon is better material compare to UltimumTi?

Those two strings are already out in Japan for a long time.....
Don't count on Yonex will release them in the N.America areas because that AD is in Japanese.....and it's for Japan only.

LOL, u got good memory jug8man. Yah, i better say something here in my defense of my previous views on nanotech(NT).

    1. it's nice to see that technology had improved to bring nanotubes and buckyball into real world application. I think the tech. is still to infant too fully exploit the pluses of NT, unless one willing to pay for the custom processing.

    2. the diagrams depicted in yonex's ad showed 3 circular things 1nm wide.
Dont know if that's cross sectional area of carbon nanotubes(cnt) or buckyballs. Since the yonex ad showed buckyball model, i guess yonex meant buckyball. I dont see the advantage of buckyball at this stage in badminton racket, it's the cnt that would do more beneficial.

    3. with electron microscope, one can find some cnt and buckyballs too in regular carbon fibers. I'm not sure (which i dont think so) if yonex's supplier had actually incorporated cnt or buckyballs from scratch in their receipe. If one raise the temp. of making carbon fiber, % of cnt/buckyball increases too. So yonex have increased cnt/buckyball from (madeup example) 0.001% to 0.005% in content, is that really improvement on strength? LOL

    The puddings:

    Nano7000 3U: 19-24 lb
    AT700/800 3U: 20-25 lbs

I wonder why yonex didnt continue using armortech with nanotech, it should yield 21-26 to 22-27 lbs rating on a 3U :)
