BG85 SP is the same as Yonex BG85. The SP denotes that it is made specifically for the countries/markets under Yonex's regional distributor, Sunrise, who is headquartered in Singapore. I think Yonex in Japan is trying to bring some distribution order to their different markets, as some regional Yonex offices are complaining that they are being priced out by Yonex products from other regions. Recently, Yonex has stopped a sizeable export order from a big Yonex dealer in Japan from exporting to Hong Kong. :D

There was an old thread talking about issues like this. Not only BG85 has "SP", BG65, BG65Ti, etc all have "SP" version. I believe other members also metioned there are "CH" version as well.

With my experience, there's not too much difference (in quality and performance) among all 3 types. Of course, there are also non-believers, who point out 1 version is better than another. :)

Btw, how much did you get ur BG85?

    bg85 TH version got diff

I bought a bg85 in BKK Thailand with no country code on it. The string has no feel and feel very soft at 23lbs, dunno whether got a faulty one or fake one, but will stick with SP code from now on :)
