this is cab20ms:UTI in shaft? lol isoï¼800ï¼tour: mp77:abviously UTI in shaft Tiï¼7: CAB23: a fake YONEX racket:no biuld-in T-joint,tinpot carbon graphit finnaly, the SOTX STB-5086A:almost same as fake YONEX racket
AMAZINGLY EXCELLENT !!! hard proof to show the different between yonex and others beneath the paint job. Pictures worth thousand words could someone translate those chinese scribblings on the xray photos?
On the sotx racket the clear writing says that at the join between the shaft and the head is not a join (1 piece racket), the other arrow points to the actual join of the 1 piece frame. On the MP77 it highlights the tjoint, and on the frame the Lines running down the shaft are the xray traces of the Nickel compound used in production. Althuogh it does clearly show that there is a difference between SOTX racket and yonex, you seem to insinuate that sotx rackets are the same as fake yonex rackets (which may not be the case.) What it does hoever prove is that Yonex have a Tjoint, and the Clarity of the X-ray between the two seems to indicate that the quality of the weave seems to be better in Yonex. Also as the join in the one piece SOTX racket looks a potential weak spot. Great pictures though, give the rackets a whole new perspective. Would you be able to do xrays on further brands of racket/different yonex rackets. It would be fantastic to see!!
No no no, i wasn't insinuating anyone, i think the photos speak for themself . The head-to-frame joint of the sotx is definitely better than the fake shown. However, remember that only 1 sample of fake and 1 sample of sotx is shown, we know that sotx, and even more so for fakes, quality consistency is not as good as yonex. It may be slightly better or worse than this one sample shown. Like you had said, the x ray photos have told us a lot. BTW jamesd20, i didn't know u can read chinese
so what we need to easily identify fakes is stick a metal detector at the t-joint. nice, why did we never thought of that??
kwun, i think all non-yonex brands don't have internal metallic T-joints That including other brand names like carlton, black knight, forza, victors, etc have the metallic T-joint.
hmm, i dont get it. Fakes tend to be yonex fake variety. Can you give an example of a non-yonex fake? I'm just curious/puzzled. (you mean fake carlton or fake forza? )
hmm, if i think hard, i remember ~10-11 years ago, i bought 2 really light weighted Pro-ace. One broke on my 2nd clear shot while the other one broke on the second game. They were 4U to 5U weight range at the time when common rackets were 2U to 3U range. All broke at the shaft-handle joint region. I remember seeing no carbon fiber on the shaft, it's just all plastic resin. I think they were proace (non yonex) fakes as i don't see those proace in proace website.
Also keep in mind you are comparing one of SOTX cheaper models here to some of Yonex more expensive models /Twobeer
i wonder how the original author got access to a x-ray machine... doesn't it cost money to make x-ray like this?
wo bu hui!! But I have a personal translator! Two beer has a point in that the 5086 is a low end racket ( so would obviousley be of lower quality than a top yy model) and doesnt profess to have a t-joint.
dear all: have u ever found out there'r slim metal lines in shaft of CAB20MUSCLE ? I think the 1st photo discovered this! shall we call it YONEX's gift for all CAB20MS users?
Can X-Ray be used to determine the quality of racquets as they come off the production line? For example, can x-ray be used to find weak spots (bubbles) in the frame and shaft?
Perhaps the person works at customs at an airport or something. Pretty sure customs X-ray machines are computer controlled, and can zoom in and take digital photos.
Remember that Yonex has the patent on the built-in T-joint so other manufacturers would have to pay royalty fees if they choose to use the T-joint in their racquets. Fake manufactures has no reason to do so (for obvious reasons) It's interesting to see how much the X-ray reveals in terms of the underlying structure of the racquets. I wonder if Yonex or any of the other manufacturers do x-ray as part of their QA process.
