Thread: Babolat Racquets?
09-19-2004, 11:25 PM #1
I know that most people use Yonex-brand racquets.
Has anyone ever used a Babolat racquet?
Hardly anyone seems to be using this brand.
I've seen a Babolat Booster Lite that's supposedly designed specifically for women players. Just wondering if anybody has any comments or feedback.

Might seem like a silly question...
Where are these racquets manufactured?
I know that Babolat is a French brand, but the guy at the shop said the racquets were made in China.
Just wanted to make sure.
If I do end up buying the Booster Lite, I want to make sure I buy the real thing.

On the other hand, Booster Lite for women is a recommendation from Babolat, the most important is that the racket is suit your playing style. Just try more other rackets for comparision and believe your fingers and hand.

I have been playing with Babolat Chrono for several years now and I'm very pleased of it.
Babolat is the official sponsor of french federation and Babolat rackets are quite common in France as you can imagine => a lot of good players play in Babolat (including Pi Hongyan ).
I don't know how spread it is abroad though?...

May i know whether is there any ISO-head for Babolat racquets?
from what i had seen from the official website, the Chrono is oval-head shaped.
but i'm wondering about the Comet... coz i couldn't figure it out whether it's ISO or Oval shaped....

There were several old threads regarding to Babolat racket reviews (most on Satelite series). Try to search (i.e. "babolat synchro"), and you should find some information.

I can attest to Babolat's superb quality and playability. I have both the Comet & Satellite. They are both very powerful and can withstand some of the nastiest racquet clashes.

Ive used the Babolat sattilite comet racket ISO head.... my sister bought it new off donna kellogg when donna came to watch my and her sister play at a tourney.
Firstly i think it may well suit a female player more than a male i really cant get on with the thing its very different from the MP99s which i use.
Its evenly balanced and very light. Basically you can move it around very quickly and easily perfect i bet for defence and lightening net play. Overhead shots is where the problems were at for me being used to a head heavy attacking MP99 or Mp100 the babolat is totally different so i was struggling with it really more my fault due to the diferent timing needed. However i think if you get used to this racket it could be brill the potential speed and lightness give me reason to try it again i thk!
(ps the one i used was a Special Edition one ie a gem/perfect racket , think this was because it was being sent to an international/world class player i think yonex do the same, its got a little star on the bottom of the handle, i doubt this really affects the racket mind )

Trying to decide between the satellite pulsar or satellite solar. I'm not sure whether to go for the stiffer racquet (solar) or the flexible racquet (pulsar).
Another question - can anyone tell me how to determine the ideal grip size for my racquet?
