I strung both my at700 & at800de with cbg 100 @22lbs. I experienced a significant drop in power. With my 700, i could hit the birdie from one backcourt to another effortlessly. But with my 800De, i just get 60-70% of the original power..... I thought that 800de also offers very decent clears and smashes. or is it that i'm not using this racket properly. Can anyone teach me how to use it? or else i have to lower the tension.... p.s cbs 100 sucks! it broke after 40mins of play with my 800de. There goes my $188HKD.
Perhaps it's just not getting used to the new racket? Try to use it more often....and see if you could manage to do better
It is common to lose power when you switch At700 to At800de. I suggest that you lower your At800 tension. In terms of power AT700 generate more power than 800. However once you are used to the at800, you can generate the same power. It will take some time.. just be patient and keep using the At800.
AT 800 De It has nothing to do with the tension. The thing with the DE is that you must have very good timing with your striking of the shuttle to be able to use this racket effectively. Rememeber that in badminton, power is applied only fractions of a second before striking the shuttle, i.e. you do not contract your muscles strongly before that.
Even though, CBN100 is known for durability issues, but unless you have killing power, 40 minute is still way too fast for a 0.69mm string. Maybe the string was damaged, or some gromments need to be replaced?
