hey!! i broke the frame of a mp99 last year when i smashed it into the ground. it cost me $30 (AUD) to repair and another $20 to restring. was this worth it? when i hit with it i cant tell that it has been broken. now i am trying to sell it because i have so many rackets. what is a reasonable price to ask?? i bought it for $220 (AUD) and it has been used for a couple of months. any comments would be apprieciated. thanks.
seriously speaking, i wouldn't buy a broken racket that has been repaired before. I doubt others will wan too
I personally don't think it'll be worth even the amount paid to repair it. Just my two cents. You never know, someone just might buy it.
Your analogy would be... "I have a Yonex AS-50 shuttle that I paid $4 for, I played one (full) game with it and one of the feathers was broken but I glued it back on. I am selling it for $2!" Sorry ILU, but take it as a lesson learned on not hitting the ground with racquets. :crying: The other option is, this racquet could be a loaner racquet for other players to borrow thus saving you from lending out your good racquets! Selling it on the open market will be tough, the closest thing would be (as in above) the player who borrowed your racquet may offer to buy it. Cheers!
A broken-then-repaired MP99 is no more could be considered as a MP99. Reason: the weight, the balance all changed, and the shot stability being greatly decreased. My suggestion is either use it as a backup racket (i.e. string broken on anotehr racket, team up with stranger newbie for double, simply showing off have MP99 etc).
a racket is still a racket. i wouldn't sell it if i were you coz as other's have said. it is worth very little. however, it is still a usable racket and would serve you well as a knock-around racket, a warm up racket, or a racket for drills only.
Yeah I live in AUS (Melb) too... Where did you get the mp99 for $220??? I tried sportsmart yesterday and it costed around $260, on sale as well!
Love all tennis shop in Macquarie centre. but u have to make sure the boss is there tho, coz hes the one whos gave more discount to me
I have managed to find a shop that sells mp100 for $219 AUS... the cheapest melb dealer so far... The rest of them sell mp99 for $250+ (they didn't have mp100).
there are heaps of dealers who sell cheaper yonex products than bigger department stores or general sport shops. you just need to know people. you could try kobeng na. his email is badmintonsport@optusnet.com.au and he is from melbourne.
Nope, he didn't reply my email though. Anyone know where to buy cheap Authentic MP-99 in Perth (or can send it to Perth, Australia)? Cheers
okay sorry!! i just spoke to his daughter and she gave me this: kobengna@hotmail.com and the home number is 03 9561 2702
I went over to their house the other day to check out the stock. They didnt' have any Yonex rackets. Majority of them are some generic brand that looks similar to the mp99 and mp100. They were selling it for $80 each... I didn't get any since I am not willing to pay $80 for a no brand racket. Ended up going to sportsmart and got myself a cab20 ms for $100 on sale. I did however get some shuttlecocks from them at $15 per tube of 12 (RSL brand). It wasn't very good. I think I will stick with my Sealion ones @ $17.
yeah. got the replied already, they don't have any stock. Thx Love. Cabs 20 ms for 100 bucks, what a bargain mate.
Yes Kobeng Na is a reptuable RSL agent, so sells mainly RSL, and some genric. If you want information on Yonex - try official Yonex Australia Website , which lists Yonex agents across Australia. There are other non-official sellers Yonex Aust in Sydney, Victoria Road Marrickville (02) 95164666. and Sunrise Sports (web seller) in Queensland,
