No, he's from Denmark. He was a former World Mixed Doubles Champion. He's a true legend in European badminton.

Yes, Thomas Lund was a great great doubles player, twice XD world champion in a row (1993 and 1995).

I saw him play twice in my life : once just before the olympics at Barcelona (exhibition game), and the other time was ... the 1995 World Champs in Lausanne.

    Today..

He is the - I forgot the exact title - something like "sport manager" of the Danish Badminton Federation.. which means that he is higher "ranked" than the head national coach.. so he still has a lot of influence on Danish badminton..

I just checked on the web-site where there is an organisation chart. Lund is not the elected president, and the Danish Badminton Federation is a "political" organisation with an elected board of Directors. But Thomas Lund is the top employee within the Federation. That is even more than the title of Sport Manager as I indicated previously. My apologies.
