Yes, apparently in his time they called it the 10,000 Watt Smash. I'd love to see some videos of him playing in his prime...

Fu, before him Halim, Cheah Soo Kit

Some of the europeans smashes do not look as dynamic but are very effective, e.g. Archer, Lundgard

Peter Rasmussen all the way, after watching the match of Rasmussen vs Sun Jun it was incredible watching him perform it. So fast and high he could reach taking the shuttle early in the air and hence creating incredible angles reverse slicing, the lot. Every time he did he owned Sun Jun, jumping so high and the power was devestaing executed so quickly with a hole rotation on the waist. A truly great jump smash proving left handers have the same power as anyone else.

Most Powerful = Fu Hai Feng according the radar. It would be interesting to see how fast the others can smash in comparison.

Well I was watching the women's singles final from the HK Open 2005 and [obviously] it was ZN and XXF and both of them I think have pretty good smashes, obviously not comparable to the mens but precise, pretty fast and good angles...

Also for mixed doubles, in general, women get less chance to smash since its usually the men playing the back if they're on the offensive and the women at the net, so I guess that's kind of hard...

And the womens doubles pairs from China are pretty good too... they seem to like their smashes..

LCW had a smash of 331km i heard. I saw Rexy play an exhibition against Ardy Wiranata a couple years ago. Rexy did a jumping backhand smash and won the point... I'll never forget it. So ridiculously hard! Halim was there as well, he is so acrobatic in the air. If he smashes and they return it cross court he pretty much jumped from halfway along the baseline, turned his weight midair, hit a fullon jump smash at about 2 and a half feet in the air and landed still in the court! Looked soo cool. He could have been a gymnast tumbler or wushu master!

a jumping backhand smash?? i've never seen one. why would he need to do a jumping backhand smash? if he needed to jump, the bird must have been high. if itwas high, an overhead jumpsmash would suffice and easier too.
smashing backhandly on the ground is amazing and not so many can master it like taufik have shown us in last WC against LSW but jumping bh smash si much harder i guess. so rexy must be one of a kind.
