Does anyone know anything about this place / brand? In today's Sing Tao Chinese newspaper, they had a full-page ad on the front page announcing their grand opening today. Their guest list looks pretty impressive, and they seem to have quite a few sponsors as well. For those who are interested, they're located at 180-3860 Main Street (below Sun Tsui Wah Restaurant). If I wasn't so busy because of school, I'd definitely go check them out today at the grand opening. -Rick
Oh, I should add that it seems like this place is merely a sports shop instead of a badminton hall, but that's just the impression I got from the newspaper ad. -Rick
Yeah, cappy75 and I checked it out last Sunday. They don't have all their stuff yet, but the owner has an impressive photo gallery of snapshots of himself with Li Yongbo, Bao Chunlai, Lin Dan, Gong Ruina and various others. One wall is dedicated to FlexPro rackets around CAD $100 average price. The other wall has baddy attire, from shirt, track suits, vests. Below the clothing display are FlexPro tubes going for $12.50, I think. cappy75 talked to the owner so he probably knows more about the quality of the birdies. Me No habla Cantonese. Grand opening is today, with draw prizes of racket(s), bags etc. -dave
Damn, if I didn't have class today, I surely would have gone to the grand opening just for the draw prizes. And $12.50 a tube is dirty cheap! Who cares if each shuttle only lasts a few points?! I can get two tubes of this stuff for every tube of Victor blue! Grand opening is at 5:00pm today. -Rick
Hold your horses, Rick... those shuttles are cheap cuz they are practice-grades. I come across them before, they're almost as bad as Victor Silver. Better quality shuttles are cheaper in the long run if you don't hack them away first. They're still stocking their inventory so better grade shuttles will come in later. Too bad they stock only Isometrics racquets, I won't mind getting racquets from them if they have stiffer racquets from their FlexPro line. Also VRC members get discount on FlexPro stuff. Couldn't help myself and bought a Coolmax shirt and A440 grip from them. Dave is the more disciplined one as he almost splurged for a vest but didn't.
rackets i'm planning to buy a new racket so i went to this new store called Flex Pro in burnaby but they sell good rackets for a cheap price (Muscle Pro, etc.) My friends or me never heard of these rackets before. If anybody out there that has any information or comments about these rackets, please reply to this thread.
Where about in Burnaby? Didn't know that Flex Pro has another shop in Burnaby. Not really into their racquets cuz they're mostly Yonex clones and they're more flexible.
some of there shoes are quite good too (the ones that look like Yonex SHB-95 in particular). Havent used any of their rackets/shuttles though. Good news for Players there, the only time the UK gets a shop specifically for Badminton is at the All England!
Really? I was going to go with SHB 98. My old 89s are really hurting my feet right now. But if the Flex Pro's are decent then I might go for them since they're less expensive.
I think they are good. Better than most copies. Their sole is muchmore flexible than cheaper versions, and they are of similar durability in my opinion. Dont blame me if they are no good for you though please! :crying: Currently I have just bought 3 pairs of Uniko shoes (a copy of SHB95) I got them for $7US each!! hahaha . I use these for training, and have some victor pairs for games.
FlexPro on main street has some pretty good rackets the last time I went. Good thing is that I live 7 minutes away from it.
and i forgot, which racket from that store?? red one, yellow one, or the green one?? i think their all muscle pro
They're selling badminton stuffs on Ebay. I saw a female player's picture on their Ebay webpage. Any one know who she is? The owner? I never heard of Flex Pro. Any one knows its history? P.S they're selling Flex Pro shoes for C$70
You can see the picture here. Who is that lady? Do you think her playing like a prof? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7141985073
