Why the sudden interest in betting and bookies invovled (as mentioned in other threads) as well? Is there something some people know that others don't?

We will never know unless we ask Lin Dan himself.

Currently, for me, LD is the best player on earth. But I am surprised that many a times he gave up winning some titles when he was sure to win.

If the bookies are involved, the players they picked would be LD and LCW's matches, where the big money is.

And I will never gamble with money on whether players will win or not.

Actually I wasn't referring to match -fixing or throwing matches, its more about how

LD can lose with difficult wind conditions or physical well-being as discussed by the HK commentators

in the youtube videos.

After watching HK Open recently I was surprised how good players can adapt to wind conditions like Saina and how some just cannot like Wang Shi Xian.

Taufik has never won AE., its merely that he won less big ones.

He was definitely the player to beat during his prime in the early 2000s.

apart from the capability to cope with, it was also a matter of the playing style. some are not so vulerable to wind direction change and some would be, if the playing style need higher precision.
