He just wants to enjoy his time playing badminton. Ending rallies with his famous super interception smashes aren't so challenging and as fun with drawing out a proper rally, and play the highest quality men singles.

Let him have fun and enjoy it. We want him to be on the circuit as long as possible.

But it is no longer fun watching him when he is seen struggling

and obviously weighed down by sth, just like Taufik.

Never mind, there will be loads of fun when the explosive and flamboyant Wang Zheng Min finally breaks through.

I remember sth spoken by another legend Liem Swie King when he was in his late 20s, "I'll continue to play men's singles

as long as my legs can carry me ". It looks as if it is a case of hands, brain, torso and stamina being OK but more like

" legs, legs dont fail me now." Sth to do with bedminton probably. So the legs become the Achilles heel probably.

Then again back to the famous quote of another legend Li Ling Wei -" It is my legs that took me to several World Chanpionships and

    All England final victories".

Come to think of it this must be one of the reasons why LCW is difficult to overcome.

The fastest player to get behind a shuttle, provided of course an opponent can wrong-foot him.

hopefully he crushes LCW..always love it when he does that..but nowadays he getting lazy and unmotivated and maybe he has the thinking that he doens't need to prove that he can beat LCW since he got nothing to win?

If he's still good and the best out there, he can always crush LCW into pieces

Players must hate it when they think they've hit a winner against LCW only to see the shuttle coming back at them to the back far corner.

actually neither of them can crush each other unless one of them is playing horribly or the other is on super form that day..they are both the top 2 players..but of course being a LD fan..I always hope LD will crush him haha!

Yes actually he also have another new one beside that. I also saw he grip only the middle part of the handle, empty on the bottom and top of the handle. Whereas before he ussually grip only the bottom part of the handle.

And do you guys also notice he took the bottom cap off, so there is no red Li-Ning logo there on both of his rackets

These 2 new ways of LD gripping have thrown away the speculation that LD use that gripping to keep his hand in particular area. I suspect it has something to do with him trying to change the BP. Whats your opinion??

Or it could be that he's finally used to holding his racket in the "right position" hehe.

he did not grip the bottom part of the handle. If on the begining the main purpose was to keep his holding position he will at least keep that bottom part gripped, but now he does not put anything on the bottom. That to me indicates that he knows exactly where he holds his racket (then and now), and all this alteration is to adjust the BP and perhaps to some extend his playing strategy on the day. That is, maybe he now decides that he want to hold his racket a bit higher up and not so always attacking anymore.

He mentioned on the interview right after the match, that he wanted to keep a challenging mode instead of champion mode (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/foru...E-FINAL/page29 post#487). Maybe it has something to do with that.

But then how do we explain the bottom cap??
