Too blur to tell, especially if the centre is really hollow wood as you claimed. Besides, the sides of the bottom part looks too white to be raw wood, and at the subsequent frames when he drops the racquet and you get to see the raw wood below the cone, the colour is starkly different (NOT WHITE AT ALL even though it is beneath his palm's shadow) compared to the white bottom part which is most probably athlete tape wrapped around the bottom cap.
My argument is that there has been thus far been no conclusive proof that the bottom part which you insist is raw wood is indeed totally uncovered as you claimed. While you seem to claim that there is indeed a conspiracy and that something must have happened and thus you are starting to see things even if they don't seem to be so.

Can't help reading what you two guys were saying,
as I said earlier it looks something black at the bottom of the handle
so that would be no butt cap

Yes, I read your explanation and interesting indeed

What I saw was during the live match
and I know when I see a handle without a cap
It was the shape and something black that tells me so,
Unless I am wrong it could be the thick overlapping grip
in the middle of the handle that make it looks like no cap

Yoppy/Blittzards, you are both eagle-eye to be so observant, finding pictures of LD grip, you are good...I hire both as detective to spot on my ex...only if you both can co-exist and work together

Now, back to LD....PG-LD match showed an experienced LD, not the run-and-gun...LD sped up when needed, smashed when he spot openings, and well paced, calculated in his match...very impressive. LD is pacing and peaking towards WC11 and of course OLY12, still a long 14 or so months to go.
Sudirman is no brainer, CHN has it in her pocket all along...so why did INA screwed up the LD-LCW mother of all show?

Uncle OTB,
Your last sentence should be treated with caution. Luckily there are no INA fans here. Those extreme ones.

I watched it in HD, watch when LD was leading 17-14 or something in the first set and he took a towel break, you can clearly see the cap is gone.

Lin Dan said he wanted to emulate PG and play till 35...
I think that's a bit tough coz there are so many good CHN players in line to taking over him... Having said that, he should quit after OG2012 with the silver medal

It does look like you can see into the bottom of the wooden handle. But it also looks like just the very bottom part or plate of the cap is missing while the sides could still be intact.
Not sure if this is the same for all his racquets or if there is really a reason for anyone to copy this. My guess is he broke the cap and did not bother to replace it

I believe ... because on the 1st set he stand on the side ("top" from video camera point of view) where the wind blow faster than where Gade stand. He wanted to prevent the shuttle going out, so he used heavier racket (with the grip wrapped so high). I used to do it the same like that before

If you notice during this sudirman cup 2011", some player had more problem on the top side & the shuttle often went out. Even the commentator also mentioned about that

Much has been said about Lin dan since the start of sudirman cup
but nothing has been mentioned by bcers about his current style of play.
To some, hoping for a re-match like the Olympic 08,
I can confirm not likely after watching all his matches here.
He definitely has change his style of play
and he is troubling a lot of players
Just take a look at his 'reserved energy'
after been attacked or rallied by his opponent.
I supposed that is his new weapon
Not only those opponent lost to him,
I think they were clueless and exhausted towards the end
He doesn't smash much yet he is deadly
What do you guys think?
