it is mandatory for top 10 players to attend all Premier Super Series event. If you don't show up, BWF will fine you US$5,250 per event.

don't you think by showing up for 1match then withdraw is a bit of a waste of tax payer's money? Players themselves might have to pay their own USD5250 fine but by coming to play, flight ticket, accomodation and all that is paid using tax payer's money. and also all the 'best actor of all time' title he/she will get for withdrawing citing 'injuries'?

the problem with US$5250 fine and "just showing up" is this. When they buy their tickets, fans don't know whether LCW will play for good or not. They don't know if LCW will withdraw.

And now those who bought tickets for the finals will be dissapointed and its kinda a sure thing that LCW will make it to the finals. so I think it's better to not participate at all and pay the fine since everyone is saying USD5250 is nothing to them and maybe BAM will pay for him also.
