    i've read an article after LCW won Indonesia Open last year, he said he will see his condition at the end of this (2014) year, if he still has good condition, he will not retire.. he even mentioned about participating in rio 2016..

    I found this video of some of Lin Dan's techniques. Look at 3:30.

    It's absolutely unreal...Lin Dan can bounce a shuttle a few times then hit the shuttle into a tiny tube on the other side of the court! This is just insane.

    That part is from a Li-Ning commercial. It's similar to Ronaldinho's Nike ad. Both utilize chroma keying editing. Whilst I don't doubt LD's technique and skill (he is a fine fine fine badminton player) but he's still human and he won't be able to hit the shuttle into a tiny tube on the other side of the court every single time.

    Right, I watched it several times but simply didn't think it's possible. Thanks,llpjlau, for telling us it's part of a Li-Ning commercial, just as I've suspected but couldn't confirm it. I mean, for Lin Dan to be able to actually do it just once is already incredible, let alone so many times in succession.

    What for? For me to sponsor them? LOL. It's public knowledge. I read it in the business section of the newspaper.

    Hmm I guess Yonex or Victor. With LCW already at Yonex, it's less likely. Some ppl think it's adidas, but with their recently not very successful marketing and inability to penetrate markets, I find that less likely, especially since LD will be very expensive to get away from LN (as that choice would not be supported by the Ntl team)...otoh they could really use a big name, with Axelsen not enjoying much success since the change and Momota rushing back to Yonex very quickly, they aren't really represented on the international stage...at least not the highest level.

    Yeah, Yonex and Victor are my thoughts too - if indeed he does change sponsor. It'll be nice to see LD with either of those, but feel Yonex fits better with him for some reason. But my money is on him staying with LN.

    So you don't think there's any chance LD could be sponsored by Panda?

    If it were Yonex, you would have heard it from the Yonex marketing team by now.

    It would be a big company.

    If LD changed sponsor, since Victor, Yonex & Adidas have been mentioned before. My wild guess are Babolat or Mizuno. I thought Kason too for a while, but it have been bought by Lining and dedicated to mid range market from their product line up pricing.

    Anyway, i can't wait to know the new sponsor.

    @JustinL @llpjlau @zhuangcorp
    C'mon guys that was an old video of LD in FedEx infomercials on badminton techniques. If you watch the last few minutes (from around 19 min onwards) , it shows how video editing was done to make it happen. LD didn't even come close to hitting the tube at any time. As a matter of fact, his final smash was into the net...

    Oh, the thread is working now. The above on Lin Dan opening a cafe was also posted by RedShuttle at the Chinese Badminton thread. Guess it's true otherwise he won't lend his name to it.
