Oh you hit the bulls-eye on this!! When LCW won the AE for instant or whatever medals for that matter, when the Malaysia flag were raised, I feel proud of him and as a Malaysian my self. My countryman has brought pride to our nations.

This is by far the most sensible and meaningful post in the last few pages. The others really can be deleted....no worthy content to read as they are pretty much the same as the other threads.

I do not agree with this notion. The Olympic Gold Medal is the most important achievement for any player, though winning it might be easier than a Superseries due to the weaker field. But you only have one shot at it every four years. Imagine if Lin Dan is not careful and just drop to No.3 in China, he will not be there to play/defend his Olympic title. Whereas the Guatemala No.1 will be four time Olympian. Unlike All England or World Championship, you can try every one or two years respectively. For the Olympic, u have to be top of your game, more so in China, otherwise you dropped off like Ji Xinpeng(2000 champion).

The bottom line is as long as CHN players win Olympics and WR 1 are okay...

Winning the Oympics Games is a victory shared by the country. When the flag is raised and national anthem played, it certainly invoke national pride and achievement. That's every sportsperson's dream and rewards beckoning.

They even mocked NON CHN Olympics winner as LUCKY..and I found it very very insulting..
