Lin Dan = The most outstanding player ever that walked the Badminton planet. Simply amazing in every account, his game has very little to no weak spots. Congratulations on wining the Gold all over again in 2012 Olympics!

I like the part from the interview where LD is asked "How did you manage to hold on to such fearsome opponent, and he replied "I am equally fearsome".

    And so does Lin Dan.
Sorry, but CHN is not part of the Commonwealth. Good if LD decides to participate in the Asians Games and LCW then will have a chance to take "revenge".

Congratulations to Lin Super Dan !

    - The only one MS player to win 2 Olympics Gold !

    - The only one MS from Thomas Cup winning member that can win OG in the same year

    - MS player with the must number of matches won in Olympics (10 matches)...more than Taufik (9 matches from 4 OG editions), and also LCW (9 from 3 editions), and PGC (8 from 4 editions)

he is just being gracious. as he moves along his career where he had won it ALL and twice over...naturally he is now positioning himself in the wise statesman role rather than the hardcore all conquering badminton warrior.

Lin Dan, I don't know what words could do you justice. In badminton, I've run out of superlatives to describe you, so I shan't say more, superfluous.

    SIMPLY THE GREATEST

Now on with the wedding planner and invitation cards distributed across the badminton realm, the last badminton related-thing we hear from Lin Dan is this:

"If Chong Wei plays in Rio, I will too"

Is it true, did Lin Dan really said that? Please cite your source, thank you.

But seriously I doubt he can do a Peter Gade whose longevity and perseverance is unmatched, truly Mr Evergreen. Frankly,if Lin Dan can continue playing near his best for the next two years or so, I'd be more than satisfied. My worry now is immediately after his double Olympic gold feat, his mind may be in semi-retirement state, hopefully not.

Possibly (or is it confirmed?) Peter's swan song, a fitting finale for a great player himself.

Peter The Great Gade, I salute ! You'd be sorely missed.
