Google makes heavy and daunting reading that does not make much sense in the end.

We've all heard of the saying, Silence is Golden,Speech Silvern. This time allow me to quote G K Chesterton:" Silence is the unbearable repartee".

hahaha! the google translation is real fun
In the previous page of this thread someone posted an interview of Lin Dan by the the lady with the nice legs, well Lin Dan does speack of Tennis and how it is that when he goes to the celebrity show to receive an award in London or other places nobody knows him? He says that is not normal. Badminton is so hot in China and also some other countries in Asia but it is nothing elsewhere, and that is a problem.
He partly fault the Chinese governement attitude for that. He says that the country think by taking as much gold medals as possible it will make the people around the globe think China is great. But Lin Dan ask "is that really so? Do people think we are great because of medals? Perhaps we should change our attitude".
I was happy to see that Lin Dan sees the problem, though I don't think he can do anything about it.

I liked the interview by the girl with nice legs. not easy to be Lin Dan. all the pressure on him. of course if he doesn't go to his current position there will be another one. but he persisted. when he mentioned his first coach and they showed the picture I laughed. haha that guy can be easily spotted in YouTube

MAS Team Coach Remarks: Let Lin Dan Regret at World Championships

The other day CBA chief Li Yongbo said:"This years' Guangzhou world championship may be the last one for Lin Dan."

Regarding Lin Dan,in addition to Chinese fans showing concern, old foe MAS number one contestant and also Lin Dan's old rival, Lee CW, is equally concerned. On this, MAS team coach Rashid Sidek expressed:" The WC wild card award to Lin Dan poses tremendous pressure on Lee CW. But I felt Lee CW cared too much about Lin Dan.

"Although Lin Dan has obtained the right to play in the WC , his current form and strength have clearly declined, so this should be Lee CW's best chance to beat him, therefore at this time it's not correct for Lee CW to put pressure on himself . I feel that Lee CW's problem can only be resolved by himself. I believe in him, so long as he follows my arranged training and preparation accordingly, then it will surely make Lin Dan bid farewell to the WC with regret." (end of translation)

Elsewhere http://sports.qq.com/a/20130628/004450.htm , Li Yongbo has expressed that he is mentally prepared for Lin Dan's one-round trip (first-round defeat) or possible R1 matchup with Lee CW or other seeded players. He also admitted that Lin Dan's court movement and speed of play is far worse than during the London Olympics.

even if WC would be a one-round trip for Super Dan, his mindblowing, one-of-a-kind career would remain far greater than this one tourney.. Let Lin enjoy his last tourney, no matter what the outcome is..

You're right, Li Yongbo is referring to possibly Lin Dan's last World Championship event, not farewell tournament that usually signals retirement. I'm inclined to think that Lin Dan will only retire if Lee CW retires.

I just don't understand. What is there to be regret for? He came to WC as a 'guest', he didn't even trying to qualified. His appearance in WC is nearly a big bonus only. Win or lose, he lost nothing i think?

Lin dan won't just show up like a rookie
and make himself a fool playing like a rooster.
He will be ready that's for sure.
    And regarding LYB's statement,
I'll take it with a pinch of salt
