    Hi fellow Canadians,

Do you know where to shop for good priced badminton shoes in the Greater Vancouver areas?

    From,
    Ted.

Abbies, VRC, Tads, Clearone should carry badminton specific shoes ;)

If you want the latest and greatest... Racquets and Runners along Oak St. can give you the best for a premium price. If you're willing to splurg for equipment, might as well be something like your shoes. Better investment than racquets.

I got the new Mizuno Lightning and it's just wonderful piece of equipment... more comfortable and less tiring with my shitty footwork. *sigh* If only I could get my footspeed up to par:(.

Tad's is probably the best place (70th and Granville). CLear one (Richmond) has not bad prices for Yonex and Forza shoes as well.

I bought my first pair of Hi-Tec Adrenaline Pros from Tads, and my current pair of Yonex from ClearOne. Both are reasonable with prices. Of course do your homework :)

    Thanks!

I came back from practicing two hours ago and my big toe is in minor pain. My Adidas running shoes are good in moving around the court, but there isn't enough support to the toe areas. Sometimes, I landed on the front of my right foot.

Well, any shoes can move you around the court but racquet-sport (or even volleyball) specific shoes enhance your experience more comfortably and efficiently. Those running shoes are just accidents waiting to happen. Time to trade up:cool:.

I look at Yonex shoes and find them attractive. Clearone's website shows they have shb-98 MX/LG ($135), shb-89 EX ($115), shb-68 EX ($99), shb-58 EX ($75) and shb-50 MX($65). I was going to buy the shb-89 but my friend said $115 seemed a bit expensive. When I think about it, I play badminton less than one year and my level is somewhere at intermediate level, may be I should get something less expensive like shb-50 MX ($65). What do you guys think about it? Should I get the shb-50? or the more expensive shb-89 EX? Or something in between. Thanks.

But keep in mind that the Clearone pricing include both PST and GST.Thus they are very price competitive.
I would certainly invest the extra $ in the better pair. Its all worth it.
One injury can take you out of action for months and I find better shoes certainly provide better support and protection from injury.

Check the fit of the shoes..that is the most important factor..a good fit.

Sounds good! I didn't know ClearOne pricing includes PST and GST. I will get myself a pair of shoes from them.

Sportchek and Sportmart are cheaper than Tad's and ClearOne. They carried some of the racquets, but you have to wait until their discount season. ClearOne sells Yonex isometric 65 light for $80, but I think SportChek had Yonex 90 vfs for $70. Now, both stores mostly sell hockey and skiing stuffs so it would be hard to find mid-range racquets in their stores/website (I don't think they carry high end racquets).

Well, it's not a crime to ask:rolleyes:. Minimum discount one can get for over $100 purchase is $10. Ask and you'll probably receive it. If you don't get discount, probably you're not asking the right person:D.

    Tad's on W.70th/Granville. You might be thinking of Abbie's at E. 33rd/Main.

Pick up the phone and ask. Clearone carries Yonex and Forza racquets; Abbie's carries Yonex and BK (don't think there was any other brands); Tad's carries Yonex, BK, Victor, Babolat, Winex, Gosen, etc.; Flex Pro (Main/E. 22nd) carries Flex Pro only; Racquets & Runners (Oak/24th) carries Yonex & BK.
