Is buying a brand new yonex armotec 500 for $165 canadian money a good deal? Also, is armortec 500 strung already when you buy it, or is it not strung? If it is not strung, which yonex string(around 20 cad) will be better for armortec 500?

It depends if you like the AT500. Try it out first before you buy, and keep in mind that you'll probably take a few weeks before adjusting to a new racket characteristics.

In addition to that, it depends on your playing style, and racket preference. There's a FAQ on this forum that explains what what to tell us (BF forum) about your playing preferences/style, in order to get good advice.

Read up on it, and everyone will be happy to make your purchase an "informed purchase" as possible.

Well, yes, I have tried out the racquet before and it was great and it suits me. I was like, $165, tax included already, isn't that an awsome price?!?!. I was wondering if I should buy it or not. There are some armortec 500 that I see in sportcheck, which it is not strung and they are like 180 cad each o_O. Umm, I actually want to ask like if $165 cad a good deal for a brand new armortec 500, I am wondering.

The last one I've seen one was $159 + taxes. I used to have my AT500 strung with BG65 @ 21 lbs, finding it lack of power. BG85 (also @21 lbs) gives me more power and good control too. In the end, it's a personal preference depending on your playing style.

The ones I've seen so far (all Canadian version) are not prestrung.

I think the cost of stringing with BG85 is about $25 + taxes.:)

Try and see if you can get some good deal on eBay (but beware of FAKES!).

Honestly with that price you can get an AT 700 in HK, but I guess it's a fair deal if you're in Canada.

It normally isn't strung. If it is, it's probably been done by the dealer. You can try asking them.

Umm, lets say what tension should i get it to string at?
By the way, where is the best place in vancouver to get rackets string. I heard there is a new store in aberdeen centre and they do stringing too, I was wondering if anyone been there before and trying the stringing service.

Hi everyone, I currently use an Armortec 500 as my main singles racket, great racket, to get decent power I think you firstly have to be use to stiff head heavy rackets. I've strung mine to about 24-25 lbs and it smashes pretty well.
    Cheers

i got an armortec 500 last year. i love it:) i had bg 28 at 21lbs before and it was great. now i have bg65 @ 23lbs adn i feel it lacks power at least it's durable so i'm sorta saving money:) if they break soon i'll use bg 85 again or try bg68
