Hi Cappy75, thanks for the pics. They certainly look good. First time I see chubby LB and he seems to be surprisingly intact. Good that you really 'protected' him well, but again this is only his first day and Dave has been sharpening his knives...I hate to think of the consequences over the next few days...

Yes Badrad looks pretty solid indeed - very dignified and he shows no clue of his recent misadventure. But the taller bespectacled young man in white in the middle can't be Dave?

Keep them coming and with the action too.

    Enjoy your torture LB...

If you multiply the bespectacled dude pound-for-pound by three, then you'd get Dave!

    Default Mini review

So Lazybuddy made it here okay. He said he slept all the way to Vancouver to "conserve energy" for the games. On Wed, cappy75 and LB went for light games at ClearOne, to orient himself

Wed night rolls around, and there's quite a turn-out at VRC. Rollcall:
    • Badrad
    • Little Badrad
    • Mrs Badrad (although she didn't play)
    • 15Love
    • PeteLSD
    • SchrodingerCat
    • Cappy75 (of course)
    • speed78
    • wwcbro (surprise turnout!)
    • Me

8:30-ish wasn't that busy at the club, maybe 1 court free/empty at all time. Around 9:30, there was a FLOOD of people! It was VERY COLD in the gym, and sitting out in-between games required a full warm-up at the start of each games.

First game against LB was quite fun, as I caught him at the offside rear forehand court, and was rewarded with a lazy floating, crosscourt half-lift, of which I could only do one thing with it (yeah, yeah, hit it out right?) SMASH WINNER! Thanks LB!

speed78 is reading my games to easily now, have to maybe up my percentage effort in games with/against her

Didn't get a chance to play with cappy75, wwcbro, 15Love and various others.

Playing with Badrad was FUNNNNNNNN! He smashes exclusively with his backhand now, with the "POK" sound, no-less!!!!!

Think I had like 4 or 5 games with LB ... front/back coverage is awesome and TOTALLY not representative of girth. He provided one knee-slider save at one point, but Badrad's too good and floated it over LB.

Sorry no pics from me, but didn't bring the camera this time round.

Looking forward to Saturday at VRC!!! And I'll start charging the G3 (camera) for this meet.

Thanks for a fun Wed evening all!

    -dave

Haha...good thing you never did get a chance to play with/against me..my play was so bad that I am not even going to do a write up on it except to thank all those who put up with my play as partners or opponents!!!
Hmm...the "pok" sound, too bad I missed out on that. I really want to see someone do that. And also the "finger-power". Does Badrad knows that?

Thanks all for the fun evening.

Will try to make Sat's nite...not sure yet.

Yes, apologies to all as I forgot about my digicam until almost everybody's gone. I am sure more and better pics will come from Dave and others. LB's doing really well. Guess his training shows. Totally giving up on my digicam for action shots. Decent pics only comes out with flash from this cheapie.

Lol, there was 1 dog sniffing around my bag!

Thanks for my friend, who let his dog left played around with the luggage, therefore, the smell was there. So, just think what those security officers' face look like when they see their dog circling around my bag...

    Sure, he got injuried...

After playing against him for 2 consecutive games, I felt like I will be the one need to call 911... Thanks for Dave to cover me around, otherwise, Kwun will really see a copy of hospital record...

Peter was the true warrior last night. Got his skin peeled off from hand, and still held on for another 2 games. A fantastic finish against wwc bro and speed78 (of course, they took easy on an injuried warrior and an already dead LB).

LB - you and Dave were like jack-rabbits on the court with so much energy! I think my partner E-J got quite tired from getting run around the court by you two. So luckily I didn't have to run too much as E-J was doing all the running on the court on our side - I was just trying to avoid getting my racquet broken.
(Actually some little twit broke my racquet last weekend at Brit, with an errant tennis style backhand swing against my forehand drive.)

Yeh - FINGER POWER! watch how I handle SUSHI and other misc finger foods! YUM! Other than that - yeh, I wish...

Unfortunately can't make it for the group dinner on Saturday due to family dinner commitments, but might be able to drop by later to burn off the excess meal.

not knowing Peter that well, but i have a feeling he is the type who'd go play badminton even when he is walking on crutches... i mean, hey, hit a few drives doesn't need much leg work.
