    Hi,

by some stroke of luck, I am able to travel next year. The choices are UK, Vancouver, New York and San Francisco.

Neil's just given me some information on UK - so it's off my list. :D

SF - conference is in March but only 2.5 days and clashes with some classes.

Vancouver - in June, also clashes with a class but a less important one. It also means I can stay for about 4 days.

New York - in December, lasts about a week. But badminton is really expensive! (NY in general is really expensive:()

I think Vancouver has the edge.

Dates and places are subject to change though;)

VANCOUVER!!! Come to Vancouver!!! Come see what a future Olympic city has to offer.

There is really a good case here. The Vancouverite BF'ers have had a history of throwing great gatherings from visiting members. Just ask LazyBuddy. There's surely no shortage of affordable places to play, and there's enough members here to keep you through a full day of badminton non stop if you wanted.

And in June, come one, the weather here on the west coast is just drop dead gorgeous.

    COME TO VANCOUVER!!!

will definitely consider it if it coincides with a weekend. i want to save up the vacation days for a one week trip to the WC in August...

it will take a lot more effort in the part of the Vancouver BC'ers to make Cheung's leg falls off. no offsense, LB... ;)

I can't see that happening. There'll be a queue for one court, Cheung on one side, and a snake-like queue out the door to get a game with him :D

If Kwun makes it, it'll be MODs vs. BF-Vancouver ... They WILL fall, oh yes, they will ... HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA.

    Come to the UK!!

I cant believe UK is off your list just because you cant enter the county restricted!! (they are not that good to make a trip from Hong kong for)

I will organise a tournament if you come!!!

Wow Cheung, it would be a very FUNtastic time indeed to have you here in Vancouver. I would love a chance to pick your brain in person about anything and everything regarding badminton *LOL*. It would certainly be a wonderful learning opportunity to have you play with us, and share your knowledge and experiences. Best of all, it would be a great reason for everyone to get together, socialize, and play badminton! :)

Kwun, it would be AWESOME if you could coincide a trip with either Cheung's or LB's visit. *JEDI MIND TRICK* C'mon, you KNOW you want to! :D Plus, we'll need your help in making Cheung break a sweat hehehe.

Vancouver guys, I would keep your brave make-Cheung's-legs-fall-off dreams in check... I suspect it will take a lot more than what we have to break him. With that in mind, Cheung, maybe I can line up some matches with our better/best provincial players for you if you wish to test some of our local mettle. :)

Hmmm... the only "older" players I'd suspect capable of giving Cheung a run aren't forum members, at least that I know of. And they're still good enough to medal in our provincial open tournies as well as national masters.

You guys are just too nice. Wait till I get to Vancouver. James, what would you do if you had the choice, play badminton in UK or play in Vancouver:D If the restricteds are on the w/end of the beginning of Oct, I definately cannot make it. A couple of weeks earlier would have been just perfect. I was even talking to friend here in HK about possibly partnering up for the tournament. She was really interested in the idea!! But it looks like we cannot make that schedule.

Timeless. Not sure if I can match the Provincial guys - just give me one game to try and embarass myself :( :D
Nah, seriously, it's good to play against different styles.

I'll be going here for *five days*

    Convention Centre/Waterfront Centre Hotel
    Jun 17-21, 2005

If I'm not mistaken, that place is right in Downtown and might take about 45 mins to an hour to get anywhere for badminton:(

LB, you want to wait for summer, or is your trip combined with skiing?

    Nah, it's only 15-20mins to the VRC from there. :D :D :D

I think we might have to close the VRC for that (besides, we might not even have enough members to sign the guests in). Might be better to go ClearOne and book the courts. :D :D :D :D

    Dave,

Lots of the folks at VRC will bore the mods to death except for a couple of high-calibre players. No offense here.

No, I hate skiing for some weired reason.

    I pick Feb because:

    1. My project might start in March, which means I won't have free time until June at least.

    2. Both me and my trip partner need a vacation asap, as we are suffering too much from work and other stuff recently.

    3. Currently, June is my backup choice. If I can't make it in Feb, then I will seriously consider Master Cheung's schedule. ;)
