It seems that all the sponsored national players uses isometric heads. What do you think? Is it that good? I find it a bit wierd and too wide for the tension.

SPONSORED, right? As in "free rackets"? Think about it. Would Yonex market push an old production line? It's less about player preference rather a marketing strategy.

For yonex, most of the newly introduced models are ISO head, namely AT, MP series. Therefore, there's more chance that sponsored player will end up with a ISO racket rather than OVAL. However, there're a few players (including Olympics MS silver medal winner) do use OVAL rackets, such as Cab30ms. ;)

beside being free and paid to use them, there are more choices in the isometric frame so the chance of finding a suitable one is higher than say one mid to highend choice in oval, namely cab30

perhaps some of those wide-head ovals?
i've seen some by black knight and carlton to be VERY hard to determine if its a iso that has it's corners curved off, or if it was a oval head that had the top pushed put to the corners a bit more than it should.
