Thread: How long do your grips last?

i prefer two layers of grip
To make the racket handle thick & more absorbant I put two layers of grip. The inner layer grip is usually of rubber material but the upper level I keep of towel material which absorbs & gives long lasting grip. The towel grip does not last long(maximum 4-5 weeks).

That is innovative and effective. But need to get the towel with correct thickness but not very cost efficient though.

Is there an inverse proportionality between overgrip life and sweat? When I got my racquet in China, I had it newly wrapped with blue Yonex supergrap. I played with it 3 times and the grip was a goner.
I come back to Canada, grip it with black Yonex supergrap, and its fine for 2 months now...
So im wondering if it has to do with the quality of the Yonex supergrap depending on where you bought it, the color, or sweat?
(I sweat alot alot alot alot alot alot alot more in China's 35 degree killer humidity stadium) lol

I'm also another user of Prince Microtac overgrip. The racquet I bought was came with a Yonex supergrap with 3 layers without original grip. I was very happy with the grip performance until I lent it to a friend of mine who has a sweaty palms and that night the Yonex grip was gone. So now I'm switching to Prince Microtac where there's only 2 layers on the handle (Yonex under, Prince top; I kept switching the layers to test if I'm comfortable with it). I'm very satisfied with my recent layer combo and I think I'll keep using it for quite sometime since I dont sweat alot. By the way, I love white color grip these days...I don't know why but it does give my AT-700 a "gentle but fierce at action" look lol.

ugh, I have to replace my grip every 1-2 weeks
I play about 2-3 hours a day though now during badmintonn season.
I use the Yonex AC-104 wave grap.

I use to use Yonex Super Grap overgrips, but the tackiness would only last for maybe a week, two tops, then another week or so it would start to tear. Spending about ten bucks for 3 overgrips didn't sound too bad to me at first til i saw the durability of it. Nowadays, I'm trying a variety of replacement grips that are around 10 bucks for one. Difference in them is that overgrips are usually tackier, but replacement grips seem to last forever.

I have used Karakal PU Grip before.
I can say it's pretty good as it still remain tacky after playing for more than 6 weeks. All I can say that it last maybe longer than equivalent Yonex aerotec grip. But all PU grip have about 2 months lifespan due to sweat absorption. You can prolong it by wrapping a tissue paper to absorb the moisture after a game.
Anyway nowadays I wrap a Yonex/Karakal PU grip on the racket wooden handle. To preserve the grip I wrapped an additional Wilson Pro overgrip on top of it.
This made the grip thicker but longer lasting. It has the advantage of the groove of the PU grip (to prevent slipping) and the tackiness/softness of the overgrip. Moreover, I can tie the overgrip pass the racquet cone to look more professional.

you should always wrap your grip up the shaft
wether you use it or not
nah, I'm kidding, I do use it though...
Currently using wilson Pro: lasts 2 weeks at most (rotating between two rackets)

Yeah Karakal Grip is Good! better than Fleet, Carlton and normal Yonex grip and somemore is damn cheap RM6.00 hahaha if buy a standard Yonex Grip is cause around RM18.00 which is 3 times more then the Karakal. I have juz wrap 1 RSL Grip RM6.00 Seems nice looks nice but not sure is nice havent get to try it yet but going to try it real soon just another 2 more hours to go.
Yup. I wraped all my new racquets to the top it may not seems nice or wat but when playing doubles it sure feels nice
