    there's absolutely nothing i can find on this competition so far. no web site. not even the draw is up in worldbadminton website :mad:

    its starting 2day (23 nov). anybody on location out there? pls post news if u can find any :)

    Hey Jug,

    That's because it is not known as Kedah Satellite but Malaysia Satellite. Check Asian Badminton Confederation site. This is what I have got from there :

    The 2004 edition of the Malaysia Satellite Badminton Championships is scheduled to be held in the northtern state of Malayan peninsula from 23rd to 28th November at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium, Alor Star, Kedah. The Championship is sanctioned by the International Badminton Federation (IBF), which offers world ranking points and it is part of the Asian Badminton Confederation (ABC) circuit. This year's total prize money offered is USD 7550.




    (Nobart) land mark of Kedah

    7 countries have already confirmed their participations: New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, England. A total of 242 entries in 5 individual events were received by the submission dateline of 29th Oct. The breakdown of entries are below:



    1) Men's Singles: 90
    2) Women's Singles: 56
    3) Men's Doubles: 53
    4) Women's Doubles: 23
    5) Mixed Doubles: 20

    For the Men's Singles, Women's Singles & Men's Doubles events, players are required to play in qualifying rounds.
    The seedings & draw will be done based on 11th November 2004 IBF World Ranking.

    The Referees for the Championship are:

    1) Chief Referee: Mr. Chua Soo Hock (MAS)
    2) Deputy Referees: Mr. Vincent Lim (MAS)
    Mr. Loh Meng Kiang (MAS)

    thanks. but what im really interested in is the draws, who's playing who, results and that sort of thing.

    any way i have heard that Andrew Smith (UK) is seeded first.
    qualifiers was yesterday and first round is being played today.

    so thanks. pls bring up any more stuff u can find. :)
