    Dear BF'ers from Malaysia,

My friend will go to Malaysia this X'mas, so I ask him to bring me some tubes of shuttle.
I need you information over this matter.
What is the good/best shuttle that can be find in Malaysia ?
    How much per tube ?

    Thanks in advance.

I heard aeroplane and sea lion can be found there at quite good prices.
For sure, proace and yang yang ones are widely available in malaysia.
Others not sure, but do not get the "gadgamarajah...." red stripe shuttle brand from indonesia one, it sucks :) I guess it will help if you mention where exactly ur friend will be going to. If KL, there was some thread on it before.

    You mean Gajahmada from Indonesia.
I used this shuttle when I was in Jakarta, it was pretty goed. But now I heard that the quality is dropping down and it sucks (like you said).
But the green one still OK.

Do you know the price of Aeroplane and Sea Lion ?
    Are there many types ?

The most popular shuttle brands I know of is the

    Sea Lion Red (RM 32 - 39)
    Protec Green (RM 29 - 35)
    RSL Silver (RM 30 - 32)

I prefer the Sea Lion the best, last the longest of the three and flies the most consistent. RSL Silver sucks big time - doesn't fly well. Protec Green is somewhere in between.

This years' 2004 MSSD Interschool District Championship uses only Sea Lion Red for the matches.

Seen a few of these at the courts on Fridays and I'm afraid they don't really feel so right when you hold them up. Again, it could just be me.

You should go to Racket World at Pertama Complex where you could get a wide range of badminton products from shuttle to racket with reasonable price.

    shuttles.

For northern part like Penang, Perak and KL. Most will go for sealion silver. Johor state will be yang yang or proace. Due to close influence of vendor. You can try BL sports hall. Quite challenging to find it. Permas area. 16 courts. Note that some shuttles have IBF on it. Some are not IBF approved. Choose those with IBF Approved word on it. Quality is more reliable.

Hi Pak Jkusmanto :) , maybe your friend could try this shop "Hongly"
    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11729&page=1&pp=18

Its actually a stationery shop which also sell badminton stuff. Its located at the Taman Sentosa shopping area Have been there but not sure of the exact address, its next to a wedding studio and a few streets away from Mega Sports. Personally I find the prices more competitive than Mega Sports. FYI the shuttles sold in Malaysia come in speeds 76 and 77.

There is also a sports shop called Newstrong Sports near the Causeway, along the shophouses next to OCBC Bank at Jalan Ibrahim. Not sure of the prices.

By the way, I heard that badminton stuff sold at the badminton halls in JB are slightly more expensive than the above mentioned shops. There is one badminton hall I know of, which is located in a housing estate: JL Sports Centre, Jln Andang 3, Taman Sri Amar. Tel: +607 331 8933

Still trying to find my way to the badminton hall which Extremesmash mentioned....its not on my map :)
