Hi, just wanted to know if most people wear their badminton shoes to game/training, or if they put them in a shoe bag and change shoes at the court!

Please help! I carry my baddie shoes in a shoe bag, and I feel really awkward when I see no one else doing the same! I just feel like the rubber-soleds are not suitable for school and the streets, and I can't bear to get them dirty either!

    Your way is the best:
1 Walking with BAD shoes will reduce the shock absoption capabilities when you play on court
2 wear an Indoor shoes on street and school will reduce life of the indoor shoe
3 less dirt if you change only when needed
4 after use, the BAD shoes got a lot of sweat and is better to wear clean shoes with clean socks
5 I've seen a lot change shoes before and after playing

I'd venture to say that the majority of people here (i.e., Phoenix, AZ) do it, whether they're serious amateurs or beginners in whatever sports they're involved in, be it badminton, basketball, volleyball, running, tennis, etc.

I carry my baddie shoes in a bag. In fact I'm so paranoid of minimizing wear and picking up dust from dirty public gyms, I don't put them on until I'm as close to the court surface as possible! Don't worry Beryl, you are in good company.

Seems quite normal behaviour to put the shoes in a shoe bag. What's wrong? Many people do it around the world.... :)

Besides keeping your pair of baddie shoes in a shoe bag, it is also wise to have a second or a third pair of baddie shoes ready at home. After each baddie session, your shoes get very wet and require a day to completely dry out. This is where the second and third pair comes in.

No matter whether your shoes are wet or not; u need to switch shoes if u play on two consecutive days because the shock absorption of the rubber will lose after use. It takes a lot of time to regain elasticity.

Haha! We love our baddie shoes! But my coach kicked up such a big fuss when he saw me changing shoes... never mind him, old habits die hard!

I ride to the club, so never used to change my shoes.......until I rode through a deep puddle and got them soaked!!

Really? I'm not disputing it, just interested in the physics behind it. If the elasticity is lost, how does it become restored?

I said, "horses sweat, men perspire and women hum" to a female friend of mine and got hit many times;) :D ;)

If the elasticity is lost, then it is lost, and becomes plastic. :) ;)

also make sure you take them out of the bag when you get home. badminton shoes soaked in sweat and then left inside a shoe bag will develop an unbearable stench.

Shoes do smell that bad if left in a bag

    Agree with Kwun

I transport mine in the shoe section of my bag and change at the side of the court, once home the first thing I do is take out the shoes and turn the shoe segment inside out to air it.

i wonder if there are things that we can do to increase the hygene of our badminton shoes.

to be honest, i seldom ever clean my badminton shoes despite all the sweat that i get on it. the amount of germs cumulated must be staggering.

i wonder if it is advisable to clean our shoes in a regular basis. say soak them in soapy water everytime we get home from the gym, and then leave them to dry out. this requires an alternate pair of shoes but if what taneepak says is true, having a second or third pair may not be a bad idea then.
