    sorry that i gave the impression i don't want to create forums.

    the main criteria i have always used when deciding on a new forum is whether the new forum justifies enough traffic. the reason i uses this criteria is that we don't want to end up with a forum that only have a post every few days.

    the Equipment Forum certainly do have enough traffic as it is the most active forum and what we need is to come up with a good division.

    I like the new "sub-forum" outlook very much. Must have been a lot of hard work to pull the thread together. Thank you.

    Can we try on having equipment for more sub forum like
    1 Rackets
    2 Strings
    3 Shoes
    4 Others

    I think the readability will be much higher, especially for newbies who might not be very familiar with the search.

    Then I don't know where the thread should belong to if there is a thread like:
    "What string should I use with my MP100?", or
    "What racket perform the best with BG65?"

    I still think keeping everything in the equipment forum is the best way

    i somewhat agree with bluejeff, strings and rackets are too tightly related (no pun intended... ) , it will be hard to split them.

    but i believe clothing isn't tightly coupled to anything else so i have splitted the clothing thread into their own forum. and then i re-organized the front page a little bit so equipment now gets its own section in the front page.

    furthermore, i have grouped the "professsional forum" along with JR/TL's forums.

    as a result, we have these major sections with sub forums:

    * professional
    * tournament
    * general/techniques/places to play (ie. things to do with "playing")
    * equipment (including marketplace)
    * lounge (intro/chit-chat)

    i think this division is more clean than before.

    Default shoes sub forum

    Kwun,
    Could you please give shoes a sub-forum too? Shoes, in my humble opinion, is too important in sports. I've personally seen many a person got permanent damage due to inappropiate shoes.

    Thank you so much for turning your passion into hardwork to cherish this Forum for the good of the Badder

    Okay is this a dumb question or am I just blind? Where are the new forums? For a while yesterday under the "Equipment" forum I saw a sub-forum listed as "Stinging Techniques". But then after a couple hours it vanished, and now I don't see anything new anywhere.

    A rather large part since it covers about 90% of the first page in the clothing forum.

    The answer is simple:

    The first question is "What string should I use with my MP100?", the person has a racket and wants to know what string goes with it. They do not want racket information.

    It goes with the string threads.

    The second question is "What racket perform the best with BG65?", the person likes a string they have most likley tried before and want to know what racket goes with it, they want racket information.

    It goes with the racket threads.

    And if you're having a bad day then stick them in the "try it and see" forum

    The site does look nicer in a more organised than it was way (trying hard not to sound as if the previous layout was bad or anything)

    The stringing forum's been up for a while now, and I must say, I was initially skeptical that there would be enough traffic to sustain it. It's more than a month into the new year now, and a quick glance at the postings shows a constant flow of new postings in there. Kudos Kwun and to all you stringers out there for sharing your knowledge!

    I just started stringing myself and I am loving it! Just want to thank the new stringing forum and the ppl behind it for all the knowledge it provides.

    Now only if we have a Stringing Machine Review section too...... judging from all the threads on which machines to buy in the stringing forum, i think there is a demand.

    Personally, I don't think the demand is high enough at this moment. It's very easy to do a search in the stringing forum for machine related topic at this time.
