    MP99 is similar

Never! The MP88 is a much more defence-based racket compared with the AT700. The MP99 should be quite similar to the AT700, and, in my opinion, the better racket of those two.

mp88 is so not similar to at700
    they are 2 different types!
    mp88 is for doubles
    at700 mostly for singles..

at700 should be compared to mp100 and ti10?
    cept at700 is lighter (4U)

Well bearing in mind if you actually pick up an AT700, it is nothing like a MP100 or MP99/90 because they are far too stiff and the AT700 is flexable.

It is also 3U and 4U which means it is availible in a lighter weight than the other two because it is nowhere near as stiff (less shaft material means both lighter and more flexible), having tried a MP88 a couple of weeks ago I think it is a bit more flexible than the AT700 but not by much.

I have also had a swing with a MP66 but was undecided on wether or not it was close because I never had it for long.

Nowhere near it, not in the same league as the MP100, 99 & 77.

I think both you chaps and Yonex are right on the stiffness of the Yonex AT700, simply because two different stiffness criteria are being used here. The stiffness most people in this forum refers to is basically the stiffness of the shaft without adjusting for length. A shaft of the same stiffness will not exhibit the same stiffness in your hand if they are of unequal lengths; however, the stiffness of the shaft on a per inch length is the same. To complicate matters further, Yonex rates their racquet stiffness on the combined stiffness of the frame head and shaft on a per unit (inch) basis.

    1. Yonex classifies its AT700 flex as extra stiff.
    2. Sure, Yonex classifies the AT700 as suitable for both attacking doubles and singles play.
You can verify the above by checking the Yonex AT700 catalog.

Yonex lost all descriptive credibility by describing the MP100 as stiff, the AT800OF and AT700 as extra stiff, what a lot of tosh!

    Hey Bud,

Since you are in M'sia, try the Pro-Tech Armor Power 700. Feels exactly like the Armotec 700. The Pro-Techs are much cheaper than the Yonex too.

    Regards

No, I think you are misquoting Yonex's flex rating of the MP100 as stiff when Yonex says its extra stiff in their catalog. Perhaps you are referring to the AT800DE, which is stiff.
