So what's a traditional Christmas dinner, anyway? Turkey?

*BUMP* Merry Christmas too from this corner of the world. Happy New Year too. Anyhow, to all you guys out there, don't be disappointed if your gifts aren't exactly what you wanted. Think about the people who cannot afford presents and many can't even afford meals. Count your blessings.

    Cheers

Thinking of getting a ham, someone told me that turkey is for Thanks Giving and ham is for Christmas.

after wood_22_chuck asked, i went and did a search. it turned out that in many countries, turkey is the traditional christmas food.

i think the US have ham is probably because by christmas time, most ppl are still very sick of the excessive amount of turkey they had during thanksgiving a month before. so they took out the ham instead. :)

Turkey here in UK is the tradtional festive meal, served with optional extras; Brussel sprouts, Yorkshire puddings, Peas, Carrots, Broccoli, Roast potatoes, Stuffing and all drowned in gravy. :p

I walked past a well known American restaurant the other and looked at their special Christmas menu....Steak and Burgers

    It is because, I think,:

ppl got too much turkey in thanksgiving and christmas(at home); 1+1= more than 2 . restaurant owner should know this very well....

(ps I would rather have chinese food: oriental fried crispy noodles and shark fin soup )

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.:D

here in the US we don't do steak & burgers for Christmas, they are meant for everyday consumption instead of holidays feast... ;)
