SportID.com had a badminton section where they had 2 vids on footwork featuring **** Ng. One of these vids had some 2 mintutes on the split-step. However, the web site has been "Under Construction" for quite some time now. I spoke to coach Ng 2 months ago about this... he had no idea when or even if the site will be resurrected. Does anyone have this QuickTime video? Is there an convenient way to publish it?

The following is a link for a QuickTime movie of a tennis serve return. It features a split-step at the beginning of the sequence:

Someone mentioned in another thread that there is an example of the split-step in a Peter Gade vid at his www.badmintontv.dv web site. Unfortunately is is all in Danish & I don't recall exactly where it is. I also recall that the split-step shown in the video is fairly subtle (it's not real obvious).

    Try looking somewhere here:

Does NE1 have any links to better (more obvious) examples?

Try looking at the footwork in the Lee Jae Bok videos at:

    http://www.ibbs.tv
    http://www.ibbs.tv/IBBS/home/mainvideos.aspx?ID=5&IsActive=2

There is a hint of split-step in 1 of the free vids:

If your connection if not fast enuff for the the vids, then you might wait a week or 2 til they get the dial-up versions online. You can also try using Fresh Download or Offline Explorer Pro as suggested at the Coaching Forum in the "online coaching videos" thread:

    2 more split-step vids

I think that I found the split-step example that someone else pointed out in the Peter Gade TV web site... www.badmintontv.dk/ovelser.htm

Look at the sub-section titled Benarbejde. Under that heading, click on Teknikken & pick your favorite media format.

I just downloaded at excellent video on footwork that features the split-step at the very begining. It's almost 20MB & took a while to dl using dial-up, but is well worth it. This link was found at the Tournament Video Sharing forum.
