I don't know but sometimes I feel as if the world is slowly coming to an end.

    - terrorists
    - the hurricanes during the summer
    - 1 in 300 chances of an asteroid hitting earth in 2029
    - the tsunami

Do you guys feel the same way or is it just me?

I guess the best thing to do is to live your life to the fullest because you never know when your gone. :(

nah. you can think similarly 100/200/300 yrs ago with similar or worse : wars, natural disaster, wide-spread disease, crazy dictators, etc, etc.

    different century, different crap.

but i do agree with your last paragraph. live your life fully, play more badminton! :D

    RIGHT ON KWUN!!!

AND Dave18, don't look on the bad side of life. Btw, by 2029, russia and usa will have enough nukes to nuke tons of asteroids that dare come our way. Prolly with their blasting those asteroids will be too afraid to come near our planet :p

P.S Kwun, why have you removed the who's online thing??

    Dave,
Don't be too worried. Spend more time on Badminton, Badminton Central, loving everybody you know/don't know; drink some bubble tea, eat some strawberries, donate some money and donate some blood too. You will be fine!!!

Fend: may be better for you to start a thread in the feedback forum on this:
aiyuuw, you are too young to think about this, now. OK. Go back to study; join the happy corner after the test.:D

    happy corner=badminton central:D :D :D

In my humble opinion, the world has already got too many things for us to be worried about, whether it is coming to an end or not. Theoretically and Philosophically speaking and in reality, it just doesn't really sound too right for me to spend more time on thinking about whether it is really coming to an end or is it coming close to an end or not indeed, indeed.

Enjoy what you have!!! Share happiness with others!!! Help the needy!!! :D

As long as no natural disaster kills all birds, I think we can still play badminton just fine, hence no end of the world:p

"Live your life everyday, as if it's the last", some wise man or woman used to say. The world is coming to an end, depending on the faith you practice - and more so in this modern world; a nuclear holocaust is probably enough to wipe the existence of humankind for good. Weapons become more powerful, killing fellow humans become more efficient.

The only thing left would probably be cockroaches. :)

Oh, and don't forget those cosmic events that may take place - mega asteroids slamming into Earth or extraordinarily powerful CMEs (coronal mass ejection) from the Sun.

But I think the greatest threat to humanity would be humanity itself.

    Agree 100%.

Some slight change in subtopic. Heard on radio this morning that there were surprisingly lack of carcasses. Not sure where but probably places near the epicenter. Animals do have the instinct to run for cover (or higher ground) when things like earthquake, big storm, etc occurs.

In Sri Lanka. Don't need high tech buoys after all. Watch & follow the animals.

"This is very interesting. I am finding bodies of humans, but I have yet to see a dead animal," said Wijeyeratne, whose hotel in the park was destroyed.

"Maybe what we think is true, that animals have a sixth sense," Wijeyeratne said.

    Q. Do you think the world is coming to an end?

    A. Yes, the sun will eventually burn out and we will all die but not for millenia after millenia.

So irrespective of whatever happens the world is coming to an end but just not as soon as you think ;)

Announced today in the UK papers, the scientists got it wrong! After a bit of re-calculation it will come no where near the earth at all.

I read that it'll be around 50 million years later, but the Earth would be uninhabitable long before that as the Sun expands - the sea would've dried up, the Earth would've been bombarded with too powerful of solar particles; chances of survival would be just about zero, unless our body continue to evolve in structure to the changes.

I think BC/BF would be long gone then. ;)

But to many, the world ends and restarts year after year or month after month:

Why does the sun go on shining?
Why does the sea rush to shore?
Don't they know it's the end of the world,
`cause you don't love me anymore?

I know you don't mean any harm and it is just lyrics but probably not the best thing to post at the moment.
