I did last year, but decided not to participate this year as I will be at too great a disadvantage even at the oldest age group. As last year was my first experience in an official tournament, I enjoyed it very much.

I think those who are able should participate to send a signal to the SBA that there are many older players in Singapore who still enjoy playing badminton so that the SBA and the Sports Council can continue to cater to their interests. Badminton can then be seen to be well supported and as a vibrant sport.

It is also time that our better players join the international masters events to publicise the badminton scene in Singapore.

Agree totally. Need to lobby LSS lah. Send email to the secretary lah. They also have problem with PA. Can't work together. Basically tournaments is only for fun lah. Not much for winning. Just to stretch ourselves and see how far we can go and if we still have the uummpphhhh.... Where do you play and what date/time?

I try to play twice a week, on Tue (SBA Hall 6 pm) and Sun (various locations 4 pm). Playing badminton as a form of exercise and socialising is great. And I have continued playing, except when I studied at an institution where no badminton courts were available, except tennis as a racket sport, since my teenage days. Hope to continue for as long as my legs can carry me. :D And what about you? ;)

    masters.

I play in chong pang on tuesday 8pm. Now they raise the fees to 6sgd a nite. per month is 20sgd. Wed in sba with OCBC bankers at 8pm. Sunday occassionally either with JB players in tiara club in the morning or afternoon 2pm at boon lay cc. Playing tournaments is like something in the blood. Adrenalin gets going. However, just for fun though.
