I just broke my beloved mp99!:crying: I was attempting a overhead clear and i had a mishit. The shuttle came in contact with the head of the frame. My racket head was at full speed. I felt a moderate vibration in my hand, the vibration was larger than that of breaking a string. There u go i broke my mp99. It was broken exactly, i mean exactly, at the 12 o'clock postion.

Well it wasnt a very serious one. The head of the racket only had a slight to medium deformation. However, the racket is no longer playable anymore:crying:.

Afterwards, i took my racket back to the place where i bought it aka Rose Sporting. He said he would send it back to yonex and the staff there will inspect the racket. He said i would have a reply in 1-2 months time.......

I bought this racket in less than 2 months. I strung it with bg66@22lbs which is within the recommended tension range. I think a racket should be able to withstand a frame shot. Humans arent perfect and there are always misjudements... I didnt have any serious clash my racket beforehand. The reason behind it is still a mystery....

I really feel sad, i got tis racket for 870HKD and it lasted for less than 2 months. From now on, i going to reconsider whether i'm going to buy these high-end yonex models anymore since they are so vulnerable or should i stick to some unknown brand which r a lot cheaper.

I would like to ask. From ur past experiences what are my chances in getting a new one? I know it's hard to tell with this little information. Or at least make a guess.Thx:)

    The chances are good

If you broke your racquet as described and you only had the racquet for 2 months, then it is very likely that you will get a replacement. UNLESS, the frame was already damaged from mis-stringing.

The same thing happened to me with the same racket though I string with bg85 at 21lbs. Less than 2 month of intensive use ;) a crack appeared at 12oclock and my stringer didn't want to work on it so I had to send it back to Yonex Canada... I joined a nice formal letter to state my disappointement.....

2 weeks later I got my racket back with an express shipping  ...
    Good luck with yours.

I agree. But that also depends whether the inspector will think the "judgement" should be favor to ur side, or yonex.

Anyway, wish u the best of luck.

Hmm, do they need proof of purchase? Like a receipt? Thanks.
