Smile can somebody help me jump-smash?

ok....gonna try and make this as detailed as i can =P. when i jump-smash,
    1) i jump(not sure how high)
    2) spread my arms out
    3) do a really big swing and end up putting my left arm at the back, racket arm on the side and a rotated waist just like normal shots.
is there nefing i'm doing wrong? (its hard for 14 year olds with 1 year of training to jump smash )

If you can do a really good smash with good upper body/arm technique without jumping, then adding the jump should be a lot easier.

judging by my friends reponse.....the smash i think was 10-15% slower then my normal smash....i'm going bak to commun centre 2morrow afta skool to get the timing rite so it goes downwards. its just the speed thing thats my concern now.

you are correct. getting the timing correct is very important in jumpsmash. in jumpsmashing, you are adding one more factor, and that's the rise of your body. that means that you need to time your move earlier (or at least different) than regular smashes. it takes time to get used to the new timing and you are on the right path, keep trying it and soon you will get the timing correct.

you also need to make sure that you first learn to do a proper non-jumpsmash first.

a jumpsmash looks nice with proper technique, a jumpsmash mixed with the wrong technique often looks very silly.
