BOO!!....avatars are cool.... Maybe you should create or unlock that function, so we can either choose our own or lets us upload one.
lol.... if they were to be badminton related, just how many avatars could you have?? unless you included players... which would cause countless avatars....
I would go with avatars too because I go to another website which has this form where my avatar is actually there.
Hi guys, regarding avatars and signatures, this is my views on them. in general, they make a forum more cluttered while adding no value to the content. it distract people from focusing on the topic. so for now, i think we should concentrate at the content, and not worry about these features.
Avatars might also slow down the forum considerably when more pple starts to register and participate in the forums!
Agree with you guys... because in some of the forum that i joined which use this format.. people will start "crapping" just to get certain amount of posting... (eg.. 1000 posting will get you to be able to have avatar..) I think the present forum is quite good... simple and just Great!!! =)
yes. taking out all the "fancy" feature is to prevent cluttering of the forum and to prevent all the "crapping". i can still observe a tiny bit of "crapping" here probably due to the post count. but i think that's a tolerable. many other forums relies on advertising money, and the more feature they have, the more users will go there to play. and the more revenue. here in BF, the model is different. i like to encourage serious badminton discussion so content matters, not features. thanks for reading.
Hehe, just look at the "Testing Smilies" thread. That thing smells like a septic tank. Many boards have titles for the number of posts that a person has. e.g. under 50 posts - Newbie 50-99 posts - Warrior 100-299 - Champion 300-999 - Master 1000+ - Grandmaster of the whole universe and all contained within it I think its a good thing that this board doesn't have titles, it would motivate people to start "crapping." I remember on this one board I was at, this one guy posted the same thing about 300 times and claimed his cousin was screwing around with his computer. Phil
