I am considering to buy one of the following rackets:

    MP 27
    MP 28
    MP 30
    MP 33
    Need help in choosing...pls advise.

Confused coz MP 28 and MP 30 have Ti Mesh - dont know what is the advantage of it, while MP 33 is a HM graphite racket and is a stiff racket while the others are medium flex.

I think you're quite new to badminton, so I would suggest the MP28 because Medium flex would be more suitable.

Yup, MP30 has Ti Mesh. MP33 doesn't. Info available on the Yonex websites and a review somewhere here on BC.

if i reember correctly, MP22 up to MP30 all have Ti mesh. its not really as prominent as the proper Ti series' though. it can be seen on the inside of the frame at the usual 3 and 9 o'clock position.

answering the original question, i would go for MP-33 which of the original MP range. the newer MP22 -> MP30 are additional models sold at lower price. my experience with MP24, it feels too light, little power. but then, i'm spoiled by the power of a Ti-10 anyway. :p

Pls help me get clarity on this - What is better of the following:

Having a racket which has High Modulus Graphite Shaft and Graphite frame with Ti Mesh, or
Having a racket which has High Modulus Graphite shaft and High Modulus Graphite frame but does NOT have Ti Mesh.

The former is MP 30 and the latter MP 33.

What is the function of Ti Mesh? How is it useful? Can HM graphite substitute its function in the frame?

You will not feel any significant differnece when you play on the court.

I found the MP33 to be a very good racket for beginners - it's balanced, has a good feel to it and is not very expensive... slight compormise in terms of raw power but makes up for it in control (tension to do that that perhaps)

I am not sure if the Ti-mesh or the Ulitinium or HM Graphite would make a tangible difference in terns of racket feel...

One thing though - I thought the MP33 was a little shorter than my AT800 DE, both at the grip and overall....

What I gather is that all of you are recommending MP 33 but are also saying that the difference between MP 30 and MP 33 might not be significant.

May I request you to advise which one of the above 2 models to purchase in light of the fact that MP 33 is around 30% more expensive that MP 30.

I'd say get one which you find comfortable with playing and stuff.

Oh... I have been told that MP 24, 28 is made in Taiwan...
MP33 still made in Japan - if that makes a diff to you

If it's a choice between an MP30 and MP33, then it's pretty much a decision you need to make based on flex.

If you are new to badminton and feel you need to generate more power, get the MP30. The more flexible shaft will help you with that.

If you think you need better control, get the MP33 as the shaft is stiff.

I always get a stiff racket over a medium or flexible racket for my newbie friends simply because I think you can develop power quickly whereas control is much more difficult to achieve.

I specifically buy them the MP33.
