The action really starts in the semis.

    MS
Peter Gade v Park Sung Hwan
    Kenneth Jonassen v Boonsak Ponsana
(not easy at all for the favourites)

    WS
    Pi Hongyan v Wang Chen
Jun Jae Youn v Tracey Hallam
(the top half feels like the final)

    MD
Candra/Sigit v Jung Jae Sung/Lee Jae Jin (the old v the new)
    Guo Zhendong/Xie Zhongbo v Jens Eriksen/Martin Lungaard-Hansen
    (Guo who? Xie who?)

    WD
    Zhang Dan/Zhang Yawen v Gail Emms/Donna Kellogg
Du Jing/Yu Yang v Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung
(Even fielding 4th and 5th string, China could very possibly dominate the final yet again, but the Lees could do something about that)

    XD
Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir v Lee Jae Jin/Lee Hyo Jung
    Zhang Wei/Yu Yang v Jens Eriksen/Mette Schjoldager
(A new Chinese mixed pair; let's see how they do against the veterans. Nova/Lilyana heavy favourites for the title.)

No, the ones who defeated Luluk/Alven are another pair, who I don't even recognise. Jung/Lee then defeated that pair.

I watched Jung/Lee in Singapore last year. They are definitely the upcoming pair from Korea after the current batch retires. They may give Candra/Sigit a run for their money but I don't think they will beat them now.

You are getting mistaken, it is Jung/Lee who defeated Luluk/Alven.

They also won against Ha/Kim in korean national champs... their semi against Candra/Sigit should be a great match!!

Yes, silly me. Well then, Luluk/Alven did not lose to just anybody then. They got a tough draw. Jung/Lee remind me of Sang/Zheng when they are fiery. I agree, the semis will be interesting.

Kenneth Jonassen. He has been living in Peter Gade's shadow for too long. And I also think he has the best sportmanship in MS right now.
