where do you look when you serve?

For me.... in doubles.... i look at the bird while i step in to my serve...... but once im gonna serve i look up and look behind the opponent. For a flick or a backhand i look at thebird while i setup but when im going to hit i look behind the opponent... i really like it... i dont really know y but it works for me...

So true ... you should always look at your opponent to know where to place the serve so that it will be harder for them to reach and that way , it should force them to give a weak return .

I look at the net, then at the bird...unless I'm playing my friends, then I just try to decieve them everytime

Definitely all over the place. Sometimes straight at the opponents, sometimes at a specific area so that they have to guess whether I'm actually gonna serve there or suddenly flick to the back or...

I look at the cute girl on the court next to me when I serve.

Actually...I look at the bird I think then at the net after i make contact.

I am puzzled that many people are saying that they stare at the opponent in order to intimidate them.

Do you think the opponent is really intimidated when you stare at them?

I for one is not bothered to look at the server but the bird & racket motion when receiving a serve.

True Dat! Service is a defensive situation since you have hit it up and over the net. Receivers have little to fear unless they lift their return

. Pressure is definitely on the servers.

This is easy for me because I have really good hand eye cord. so i just stare him down.

1.Intimidation (A huge factor in any sport)

2.He/She has no idea your serve will be going.

Plus you can read them and pick a good serve point.

Kamen you say when you are say ranked number 50 and your going to play number 1 ranked guy and that doesn't intimidate you???? Doesn't make sense the only thing you may be doin is your intimidating them without even knowing lol Good Job then!!

Oh ya if you say you look at the bird/racqeu hmm not a good idea more the bird because there is a thing called deception and when you start playing top players that strat doesnt work as much.

Opponents can stare and glare at me as much as they like. The only thing that intimidates me is the sound of the shuttle hitting the floor as my racket flaps uselessly in the air.
