Selling Fake on Ebay - 2 Years in Prison
Here is a news about one Shanghai fake sportswear (Adidas, Nike) seller on Eachnet(Ebay China) was sentenced to 2 years in prision.
Wonder when Yonex will start sueing those fake sellers' a**, or they never won't.

Well, I am not sure if Yonex will do the same, but I am hoping they do!

Fake sellers should get a shot at the head!!

Well, the person who was in the news is not going to prison now because it states in the news that it has "waiting period" of 2 years if I am not mistaken.
That is, if this person do anything wrong again in the next 2 years, then he will take that 2 years of prison + the new charge. If he doesn't do anything within the next 2 years, he doesn't need to go to jail.
However, he has to pay the 20000 RMB fine for now.

if he ends up serving time, it won't be anywhere near two years.
he'll end up serving three to four months at the most, end up on probation.
his internet activites will be highly monitored, and perhaps having to report his activities further, to the PO, on a regular basis... and after a year of that, he'll be off, completely.
international online comerce is just too difficult a venue to enforce.
yonex probably just doesn't want to bother wasting the time and effort.
coordinating the efforts between the home yonex office, the closest yonex branch to the offender, law enforcement in japan, and in states (ebay), and the offender, takes a hell of a long time.
sorting out the materials to build a case will be time consuming enough...Last edited by chickenpoodle; 02-09-2005 at 12:15 AM.

And he has sold 190,000 RMB Adidas products. Assume the cost is 10%, he made 170,000 already and only pay 20,000 rmb!? How can that stop all the fake sellers?

No Hope?
Does that mean the AT800s I ordered on eBay for $48 apiece from the HK seller is guaranteed to be fake?!

Most like they will be. I only know of two verified sellers, sumai03 and kwong_kwong. Chances of that happening is very high with sellers from China and Hong Kong. I am afraid to even deal with those here in the US that I don't know the profile of.

If that's a brand new racket, the chance is like 99.9999% of being fake. Yonex will never allowed its authorized dealers to lower the price like this, even for business competition purpose.
