I read an article from here, saying that distributor does not mean where the racket is made in.
But I am just wondering, will a SP racket better than a CH one?
I have 2 Armortec 800 OFs with me, one is SP and the other is CH...
and somehow the CH is shorter than the SP:confused:
    so.... I don't know...
    Please help me out here~

    procedure:
    1. get a scissor
    2. cut main and cross on both ch and sp racquets
    3. now compare length :p :p :p
    4. they should be same length now :)

The head compresses during stringing. The more tightly strung the racket (higher tension), then the head compresses more.

If the two rackets have different tensions, then this could account for the difference in length that you observe.

how big is the difference, what tension are the two racquets strung at...do they look exactly the same otherwise (ie the paintjob etc etc)?

well, yeah thats obviously true if they are genuine....however, there is a small chance they may not be, and so that could account for the difference.

i mean, carmen has 2 At800OF, very top of the line racquets but was until recently unsure what the distribution code was, and also isn't experienced enough to say what tension, weight etc the two racquets are at....well maybe he/she was busy at the time of posting...so there is a small chance that they unwittingly bought a fake:p for their sake, i hope not:)

they are both strung at 24lbs. The SP is "Extra Stiff" and the CH is "Stiff"... the SP is like... 5mm longer in the shaft...otherwise they just look the same to me...

And the cover is different too~ one of them is just.. Yonex then Armortec, but the other one would have Yonex, 800, then Armortec...an extra "800" on the cover....

they are just different... i thought they would be the same....

and i want to ask too... the difference between 3U and 4U is not that noticeable, right? Because it seems like they are different in weight too....
    Dang...:crying:

I just wonder if you can post the serial nos. (7-digit no on the shaft) and date codes (6-digit+2-letters on the cone) of both your AT800-OF

well, there you go. your SP is a fake racket!

you need to double check you copied down the numbers correctly.

AT-800 is 2004 model. How come the producing date of CH one is 2/27/2003?

I say they are probably both fakes :p

There aren't that many genuine CH rackets on the market. I say 95%+ of CH rackets I have seen so far are all fakes.

I am afraid that your AT 800-OF SP of 3694513 280386SP is a fake as other BFers inferred from the date code of 280386SP (date=28 March 2008??)

From my list I have 2 items closest to your CH serial no. of 3694416 270238CH:

    (1) Ti 10 Titanium Mesh 3694572 270226SP (Date=27 Feb 2002)
    (2) Isometric Ti Swing Power 3694607 270224SP (Date=27 Feb 2002)

    The 1st AT800 in my list is a Armortec 800OF 4783688 250342JP (Date=25 Mar 2004), ie AT800 is marketed in early 2004.

The serial no. of 3694416 is too small (ie it should be close to or bigger than 4783688) for AT800.
The date code should be sometime close to or after March 2004 and not 270238CH (Date=27 Feb 2003)

If the CH serial no. 3694416 and date code 270238CH are the same as what are printed on the shaft and the cone, then IMHO the CH is also a fake.

    Both are fakes.

AT800 is 2004 model, the 5th digit on the cone for SP is "8" means 2008, the 5th digit on the cone for CH is "3", means 2003.

    Sorry...

    Ouchhh..

i don't know about your ch racquet,
but the sp one definitely fake. i can tell, because u said the racquet is a li'll bit longer. i bought fake racquets (muscle power range) in malaysia and in indonesia, and they are all longer by +/- 1cm compare with the genuine racquets.

and other thing, try to compare your sp shaft diameter with your friends racquet(original), your racquet diameter should be slightly thicker than the genuine one.

how much you bought the racquet by the way??

    fake only cost around $15-20us.
