Xia keeps doing well, he might be the strongest single player currently. I believe he's got the longest winning streak among all current players.

Lin is awesome. After entering Malaysian open quater-final, beat Gopi and Taufik, now he's cruised to the Asian Championship final. Although many people, including Taufik, after being defeated badly 2-15, 3-15, still said that Lin, actually, was not as good as other Chinese players. I saw something good on this 18 year old kid. He moves quickly and smoothly, has high fighting spirit. His smash might be not as powerful as Chen Hong or even Xia Xuanze, but mostly enough to win.

The final prediction of mine is that Xia has 60% to win, while Lin has 40% chance.

If we don't count the team competition (such as Sudirman cup in which Xia didn't have a chance to play), Xia should be number one a way ahead of Chen Hong and Peter Gade. Now by entering the final of Asian Championship, he still can beat anyone and the absurd ranking system and become the number one in the world. (Chen Hong, Gade, Taufik all got 450 bonus points from Sudirman because of winning, Hendrawan got 351 because losing while Xia got 0 because of not playing)

well if you are good but never play in major international tournament then it's pointless..

How does he prove that he is good? only by competing actively in major international tournament. If he doesn't participate, then tough luck....

For example, we can say that Yang-Yang is the best all time man single player in the world, so can we put him in the first ranked? Some can argue if he plays now he should be able to beat all top 5 players in the current rank. Then he should always be in the first until a very-very good single man player impress the fans more .

Don't make any predictions yet.The ABC is going to lobby

for adoption of old 15 point system in future,so players like Xia,

Marleve with suspect stamina etc are going to struggle again.

But Xia is still there, going to be the Champion now under 15x3
Marleve seems to be aggressive for only short time, but for Xia, stamina is his strength.

    What's your point?

The Abc does not have a good enough field to challenge Xia,

he even struggled in 3 sets to beat Lee Tsuen Seng.Maybe his

stamina has improved, let's hope so because he is actually one of the most exciting players to watch. He and Lin Dan play with
    collars up.

Taufik is having internal problem with PBSI, Hendrawan is maybe getting old or making way for the youngster. Xia just get back from Hawaii and Lin Dan still young with room for improvement. MAybe he will be in the next line up for the Thomas Cup Final.

So let's us wait and see what happen after this.

    Go Xia !!!

Is Pang = Pang Chen ??

  10. Pang is justifiably put off by BBn's comments. The field had the 2 in- form Indo players (Taufik, Maniaky) failed to survive 3 rounds and Lee Tsuen Seng and Lee il Hyun also failed, so this is not a weak field. Xia won 2 weeks ago in the 7x5 system and this week in the 15x3 system; he also has the 2000 AE remember? So why belittle Xia by saying the field is not good enough unless you mean these players are all 2nd liners? ? Lachimi
