I believe there are several old threads discuss 2-knots and 4-knots string methods. I believe a link to some online tutorial was also included in those thread(s). Maybe a search 1st?
I did do some search in BF....hoping to find a nice picture instruction...but ended up have nothing><ll
Well, can you tell us what you already know. Are you a stringer? What sort of machine & clamps have you got.
Thx I am using EAGNAS Smart 808 right now....I know how to do the 4 knot stringing method......I want to learn it because some sotx racket really don't support with the 4 knot stringing method...the last finish hole suppose to be 6th one..but it only can fit one string path...
but 7T also only can fit one string path....so the basic way to solve this is 2 knot stringing....that is what i am thinking
You use 1 piece of string. String the mains as normal except you don't have the same length of string on each side of the shaft. On one side you will want enough string to string half the mains and then tie off as you normally would tie off that main. This is called the "Short Side". On the other side you need enough string to string half the mains and all the crosses. When you finish the last main on this side, you don't tie off, you feed the string into the bottom cross, and string the crosses up from the throat to the head.
let me say it more a bit...I was doing 4 knot on 2004 sotx 4A.... I finsih with the main and have knots on both B8....that are find But after i finish the last cross....which is B9? and try to make the knot on B6...but.....the hole is not big enough to take string...so does B7........So I was forcing to make the knot on B9 -_-ll....which is one cross less then the normal racket
What string u using? If u use anything like BG65 or thinner, u should have no problem for B7, and I strung Woven 4A before. You might need to use the owl to "loose" the gromment a bit, before let the 2nd string going through. Or, an alternative solution, is also tie the cross on B8, which make 1 B8 has 3 strings instead of 2. You also need to use the owl to "loose" the gromment a bit before using the extra piece.
If you can get hold of a similar but unstrung racquet, try to insert two strings into 6T or 7T (T stands for throat) and see if they pass through. I am curious as to why there are racquets that are specifically made for 2-knot stringing.
If you can get two strings into the bottom grommet 7 on a blank racquet, but at the same time find it impossible to tie off the knot at grommet 7 at the bottom without breaking the string when you are stringing, then your other alternative is to pre-weave the string on the racquet.
Thank you guys...been great help... I will try to use 2 knot method once at least but how long will the "short side" be? around 275cm??
275cm should be ok for the main short side. For your problem on the fitting 2 strings through 1 hole, I use un-waxed dental floss to guide the string through the hole with a string in already. First, you need a floss > 10cm. Insert both ends of the floss through the target hold. Pull the floss out by both ends untill it forms a loop about 1 cm in radious. Use the floss as a needle and insert a shout end of the string through the loop and pull the floss through the hole. The string will come through with the floss. You know the rest... I hope this will help.
Sotx Woven 4A has not double pass on 6T You are right. Sotx Woven 4A has grommet for double strings pass only on 8T, 9T, 10T and 12T. (T=throat) With 4 knot, after both 8T used, you have to finish at 10T (that is how my original strings come with). I recommend you to use 2 knot method on Woven 4A. Note, Grommet 8T, 9T, 10T and 12T so big can pass 3 strings without any problem. Even BG-43 or BG-63.
