Here's is a little tactic that I enjoy using sometimes.

For those lucky enough to play in high halls, have you ever noticed that maybe the height of the lifts from the forecourt maybe always around the same height?

Have you ever heard about the tactic of moving the opponent around the court when you lift from the net i.e. playing diagonal lifts?

Next time you play, if you have hit a couple of your regular lifts in one rally, try hitting a couple of very high ones in the same rally.

you may just win a point off the opponents mistake..;)

Yeah, pretty consistent with what I learnt... lifting consistently is an invitation for trouble. Variety in shots is key to keeping opponents off balance and ease in their responses. If you're gonna lift, lift at different intensity (or height). Sometimes, I still get thrown off by people forehand serving high in doubles:p.
