No NHL this year. Maybe its a one-off chance for badminton to get its act together and drive to increase exposure in N America. There's a big vacuum there for exploitation now. Badmitnon can try to grab a piece of the pie!
not that easy. The hockey ladder is very long here. There are AHL, farm teams, juniors, locals, etc. I think badminton associations still have to push badminton to the media if any are to be shown on TV. http://www.canoe.ca/AHL/
Even do I'm 100% pro Badminton here in the US. The thought that the sport of Badminton could become more popular than Hockey is just very unrealistic !!!! Just my 2 cents. Shuttle.
i highly doubt it will be shown in canada.... they are more interested in airing spelling bees and bowling.... although i do like the increased coverage of billiards and poker...

Just finished watching Lacrosse All Star game on NBC. I have never seen lacrosse on prime time TV channel before so I guess without NFL, they are the one of the beneficiary at this time. My opinion in watching this is that Lacrosse is very well packaged. They have player in very professional uniforms and equipments similar to NHL , announcers that know the game and provides excitement, and marketing thats just plain professional. IBF needs to keep their eyes open and start taking notes. www.nll.com

Similar situation with Tennis. There are about 150,000 tennis courts in USA. I would say only a handfull of private real badminton courts. Here is the latest update, with NHL season gone, TV stations have found that best replacement programs are Poker tournaments , which was actually getting higher ratings than NHL games!!!!
