noticed this on the drive back from the badminton store. http://img224.exs.cx/img224/1720/picture1en.jpg do you think i should go back and say something? MY BEAUTIFUL CAB30MS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! btw i strung it @ 23x25 with bg70pro
Thats a nasty looking dent! Its even worse than a scratch. Took the paint off already to show the graphite layer. Scratch, dent & break a racket in the court is ok, but have a stringer damage it for you is just irritating. If you just bought the racket & had it strung at the same store, you should ask them to replace it with a new one. Look for a better stringer next time, who's more careful. I only have one stringer touch my rackets. He's an old timer already & been stringing rackets for years.. He's really careful & precise when he strings my rackets & he's also aware that Yonex rackets don't just grow from trees. Rackets expensive investments & stringers should be aware of that..
if that store won't give u any compensation, contact yonex usa and let them know about your situation with that retailer.
It looks like the stringer over tighten the screw when he tried to mount the racket. To me, it's just a paint job, but u still need to let him know, in case something wrong happens to it in the very near future. Btw, how many cross do u have on the racket? The last cross looks very low to me.
It looks like the stringer may have skipped one string and finished on one lower than normal (like a signature pattern). Because the distance between the last two looks much bigger than the distance from the 2nd to 3rd string.
Looks like the throat retainer was tightened to much and has turned a nice little mark in the paint. I would think most reputable stringers would know about tightening them too far as to cause damage to the rackets paint job. If it were mine it would result in extreme violence with the racket being worn as a new hat by my stringer , you scratched my racket, no I didn't, thwack, yes you have You have to take it back and show them that they have damaged your bat!
what bugs me is that this store IS a reputable store in town (they tell me they've been playing for over 40 years). but i'm scared that he'll just turn me away ( i'm only 16 ). and plus i never got a receipt! (bought shb98mx's and some super grap also). on i brighter note i won my challenge match today . i think i'll call them tomorrow. if i build up enough courage.
Well, to me, years of experience does not mean "NEVER EVER MAKE A MISTAKE". Never have to metion, who knows who did ur racket? Maybe just a HS assistant who got hired on the 1st day? I think u deserve the rights to at least bring it up to the table.
Most reputable stringers wouldn't turn you away since that only makes their situation worse. Bring the racke to them and they should be able to see that the scratch/dent must have occurred on a stringing machine. Also, you should always ALWAYS ask for a recept when buying a racket. If you don't have it, you can't get warranty...
