I know playing on outdoor concrete courts is not a good idea, but booking courts at government sports centres is too expensive, and my school hall is almost always used for functions, examinations and so on, so I can only play on the concrete court in my school.

Someone told me that it will damage the shoes a lot if I wear the regular badminton shoes on concrete, so I would like to see if there are any alternatives.

If you don't mind the travel you can come and join me in Tuen Mun. I play in nice air-conditioned courts with wooden floors and each two hours session costs between HK$10 to HK$19 per person, and that includes court fees and good quality shuttles.

    Hi

In spore, i also play in concrete floor.
As for shoes, there is no difference with any type of floors.
Just don't wear soft and thin shoe for playing, as they wore out easily.
The life of shoe depend hw u treat it.

I will consider this but I think I'd better go to my brother's university to play. University courts normally don't cost anything, but you need to know someone who study in it. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

Try the Adidas Stan Smith Millenium or Hardware with the classic little circle sole pattern. Even though the sole is not made of gum type material, the shoe is able to provide consistent traction across a wide range of surfaces, even on very dirty gym floors. And it's very durable, I had mine for almost 3 years and I play 12-15hrs a week (7-8hrs of actual play time). I actually like it more than my Yonex 68.
